Truck Tuner - Which one?

I have read some things that suggest the MicroMark Truck Tuner is better than the Reboxx one.

Do you use either of these?
Do you feel one is better than the other?

I want to order one, but I'm not sure which one to get. sad

Nelson BC Diesel Shop

Hello Friends

Together with Stefan Foerg (who build my Dioramas) and Rodney Walker (who make my CP Engines) I would like to make a Nelson Diesel Shop Diorama. I've got allready the Nelson Building Plan from the 1996-12 Mainline Modeler Magazine and I've many pictures from the Internet like this:

NCE PwrCab + USB/JMRI + Cab04p

Dear MRH Luminaries, NCE and JMRI brainstrust,

T- 36 hours til my current project layout debuts at it's first show. While I've had the PwrCab rig for a while, this is it's first "use in anger", esp at a public show. I've checked both NCE and JMRI documentation, but hope someone can shed some light.

The issue as follows:
PwrCab + USB/JMRI interface = OK (both PwrCab and EngineDriver throttle active and responsive)

PwrCab + Cab04p = (both PwrCab and Cab04p active and responsive)

PwrCab + USB/JMRI + Cab04p = laggy/intermittent response from the Cab04p

Details:

Alternate space for clubs

I know this is a crazy idea to start with but....

Double track using Unitrack

Intending to lay Unitrack N gauge and use 315mm radius as the largest curve. There will be a double track section and on the curves I will use the 282mm curve on the inside. From one track to other I want to use #6 turnouts. But 2 say#6 LH wouldn't give the correct track centre. What is the answer to this? Hope you can understand my problem - no hobby shop within 400 miles to me

Staging and the Monday Night Mail Train

In my January entry I spoke about the trains I wished to run on the Kanunda And Emu Flat railway and what was required on the layout to sustain running those trains. This month I will talk about staging on the K&EFR.

Time for a change?

I am considering making a major change.

I created the concept for the Cariboo Western Railway in 1980 when I bought my townhouse. While I was really interested in the British Columbia Railway at the time I thought they didn't run enough trains to make interesting operation and there was not a lot of BCR models available.

The other day I had a Homer Simpson moment   DOOOOOOH!

I realised that there is now a lot of BCR equipment available.

I have lots of information available on the British Columbia Railway.

Update on BNML Layout Progress

Here is an update on my progress on the BNML. Morris to St Jean...

This diagram shows the area covered in this update.

All the tricky bits of benchwork seem to be located in this section. The outside corner is complicated by the fact that it crosses the descending ramp to staging, so clearances are tight. And I also built my first super elevated curve. Works good so far!
