Turning on and off power by DCC on the staging yard of the Colorado Front Range Railroad
Just a quick update and thanks to two member of this Blog, Geoff Bunza and David Bodnar both have posting that help me get this project done. It took me 4 weeks to finish this project the two decoders that I built and program work perfectly.

Blue Box SP Dash 9 Update (Almost Done!)
It's been a long time since I started this project, and a long time since I've posted an update. Turns out I don't have as much free time to devote to model railroading as I wish I did, LOL!
I was in the train room today doing some work and decided I needed to take some photos and post an update. More on that in a moment, but first, here are the links to the previous blog entries for reference:

Looking for tips on (structure) windows
No, not that kind. I'm a mac user. I mean windows in model buildings. I find them intimidating, especially the kind where you have to install upper and lower frames inside an outer frame. So much opportunity for my shaky hands to wreak havoc. Here's what prompted the thread:
Miller's K&LE
Great article by Tom Patterson on John MIller's layout. Am glad to have enjoyed operating it in the past, and look in great anticipation in doing so on the upcoming new layout.
San Pablo Valley RR #20 (Another Blackstone C-19 Project)
Consolidation #20 is ready to join the roster. She started as a Blackstone diamond-stacked C-19 and received a lot of the same treatment #19 did. The most notable differences between the two are that #20 has a notably shorter smokebox and older-style headlight, in addition to an intermediate C-16 pilot rather than the plow.
Machining of 3D printed plastic
I recently purchased some 3D printed locomotive cabs off eBay. The seller had molded on mounting bosses to drop the cabs onto a Bachmann F7 chassis. Problem is Bachmann made two different F7 chassis. The one the cab was designed for and the one I bought. I now have to remove 4 mounting bosses that are approximately 1/4"x1/4"x1/2" that are against the sidewalls of the cab and the roof. I found an Xacto chisel blade would take off a sliver at a time but I have a lot of material to hog out.
Tam Valley Web Page
Is anyone else having display issues with some of the Tam Valley web site pages? I get the same black background display on Chrome, IE and FireFox (http://www.tamvalleydepot.com/products/dccpowerfrogjuicers.html#booster)? The page has rendered correctly in the past.
I contacted them and a quick reply suggested refreshing the page (no help). I have tried clearing the cache (no help). As Duncan at TV is not seeing the problem, I'm on my own here.
Looking For This
Roof. The car started from a undecorated kit from Branchline. I swore that at one time you could get the roof from Atlas when they took them over but it's no were to be found on their website. I have emailed Atlas and am waiting their reply. Does any body have any ideas who makes a roof like this. Its a 40' Diagonal panel roof. I have to build say 20 or more of these cars. The other thing I was thinking of was to have them 3D printed. Would this be a wise option or to costly.

Trackplan 'Lodores'
Hello everybody,
I have starting my home layout 'Lodores & Silvertown' in HOn3 (23' x 10'). The layout is a freelance design of an RGS branch line in the Rocky mountains.
I have created a blog, showing the construction progress of the layout:
Happy new year
