Looking for EMD cab plans
Looking for plans so I can build a full size EMD standard cab for my P I Engineering AAR control stand. Cab style would be the GP-35/40/45 standard cab from the 60's era. Also need the interior plans for control stand and seat placement. Have searched the net and so far no success. ---- Ken
Interfacing With Iowa Scaled Engineering’s Fast Clocks
The idea of a clock that runs faster than real time to compensate for the compression in our model world is nothing new. The idea has been with us since at least the 1960s. It provides a way to schedule our operating sessions, providing a sense of real time passage and urgency without needing literally thousands of feet of track to represent the vast distances covered by our prototype railroads. Aside from being a display on the wall, guiding operators’ train movements, fast clocks have remained an isolated system, our model world unaffected by the passage of scale t
OPS Program
A few weeks ago I found a post somewhere of an OPS program that had really good screens. The commentary was that you inventoried your cars and your industries and specified each industries inbound and outbound cars and their frequency. Then you do a few tweaks and overrides before generating a train list as to what went where and what got picked up and where each of those cars went.It wasn't JMRI based or simply Access/Excel. It actually had screens to input data. I vaguely remember thinking that I could order it over the net.

Stirrups
No matter how careful you are, small plastic stirrups on freight cars seem to just "jump off" and disappear into the model railroad void no matter what kind of super glue you might use. I have figured out that making my own from brass wire is probably the best replacement route but I am not sure of the diameter and the length to use to bend into shape. Does anyone have a handy measurement or rule of thumb to use for making these replacements?
PWN noise supression for G Scale
Hi all,
My garden rail LGB loco has recently been fitted with battery power and an RC system (using Deltang components, but based on a kit from another supplier). The train runs well, the smoke generator and lights are all functioning properly, and i'm general pretty happy. But one thing i've found is that there is a distinct noise coming from the motor. I spoke to the supplier (Peter Spoerer) and he said that its PWM noise:

"Caldwell Boulevard"...bringing a photo diorama to life
"Caldwell Boulevard" is the name I christened upon my latest scenic diorama that will be used for photographing some of my monthly weathered model projects for The Weathering Shop. The name "Caldwell" for this project happened to come from a jazz artists last name. I was trying to imagine names for this diorama when it was nearing completion. I just so happened to be listening to smooth jazz artist Bobby Caldwell when the final stages of production of this diorama were coming about. I thought to myself that "Caldwell Boulevard" sounded legitimate.
