Pokey Progress: Upper Deck II
Work continues slowly but surely on the upper deck of my new N&W Pocahontas District layout. Sub-roadbed for the "west" end of the upper deck has been completed. The track plan has been transferred to the layout, and cork roadbed installed.
The photos follow in the next post.

Model Railroads & Structures Show Ep2
In this episode I talk about what's in a Craftsman kit and why the cost is worth the lessons learned. Sven shares his first attempts at Boxcar weathering. He did a pretty good job in my opinion.
Another signal question
If you have a two diverging routes (and one is a main line) what type of signal should be used?
Both the first diverging route and the main through the siding are main lines.
Note: The diverging route and the siding are very close together.
Should it have:
One, two light target signal (before the diverging main)
Two, two light target signal (one before the diverging main and one before the siding)
One, three light target signal (before the diverging main)
The Trains Return
Today the layout was finally returned to operational status as a single reunited piece, a process that ended up taking three weeks longer than I anticipated, due to real life being significantly busier than expected. But isn't that how this hobby usually works?
SP branchline scenery
Scene on my SP branchline . It is freelance early 1960's rural flavor. The Jeep is a Herpa military.
I can't detail locomotives well. Scenery keeps me out of trouble.
Car talk with Athearn Genesis GP9 in the background
Coal and steel railroad car card and waybill question
I have three track yards with the list of each train and the industry it serves.
Should I color code my waybill by what train goes on?

Layout Update: Mid June 2015 - Part 2
This video is Part 2 of Layout Update for mid-June 2015. The first part described the track installation and this part shows how the paper plan for DCC electrical installation is translated to the physical layout.
Sound question
First encounter with sound equipped "N" loco. Use Digitrax with DT402 throttle. Would like to change loco address to 4 digit format. Can I do this with the DT402 as I would do with normal DCC decoder? Thanks
