Busy Weekend

It was a busy weekend in our house between kids activities and sleepovers, regular household duties and having some visitors over.  Between all of that activity I managed to get the DCC booster and transformer moved to their permanent home on a shelf under the layout.  I found an old shelf from a home entertainment center that was not being used for anything to house the electronic gizmos.

Something you don't see often

Well, for as often as you seen Civil War era modeling, at least.

Anyway, there are several railroad photos in this but look for the huge windmill used for pumping water for the water tank.

N Scale CNW Crandall Cab 503

I built this N Scale CNW Crandall Cab about a year ago for a guy. I started out just like the CNW by using an E unit (Kato).

The Kato E8 that I started with.

Next to an HO Scale E8 for a little size comparison.

Traingeek Steve Boyko visits the BNML...

Renowned Train Blogger Steve Boyko of www.traingeek.ca visited the BNML today.

It was a shorter session than originally planned, and one of the operators was not able to make it, but I had a great time getting to know Steve and I am looking forward to seeing him on my crew again in the future!

Sorry no video today, but here is a photo of Steve working CN 532 in Morris:

Christmas Tree Train Project

Hello!

I'm looking for some advice on my elevated train project.

I haven't had a train since I was a kid (and that was awhile ago) so I know nothing about building layouts.

I recently purchased the Lionel Polar Express Remote Train Set - O-Gauge, and an additional Lionel - FasTrack - Straight Track - 4 Pack so this gives me eight curved 0-36 FasTrack sections, seven 10" straight FasTrack sections, one 10" FasTrack wall-pack terminal section in total.

Item Values?

Here are some various items from my Grandpas Dads collection. Any ideas what any of it is worth? More info is by each image/set of images.
