First Blue Point (TM) Installation
On my layout there is a switch toward the back of the layout that leads to a couple of public delivery and storage tracks. Access to the switch to throw it by hand is obstructed by a set of coal silos and a lumber shed.

New to Model Railroading
I am just getting started on my first 4x8 layout. After a couple of weeks of playing with different track layouts I think I have finally decided on my layout. I am trying to take everything one step at a time and plan everything before moving to putting it in place. I have done lots of online research but I can not find help on elevating track. I know I want to elevate a section of track about 6 inches from the base to have it run over a mountain scene (with a track running under through a tunnel)
A new day has dawned
The first step in getting the updated C&E built is done. The benchwork has been reconstructed with some seriously large carriage bolts. Guaranteed not to move until I am ready to move. Bus wire is run from one end to the other. Black in back makes it easy to not get them confused. The subroadbed follows next them we can really get serious.

Industrial Theme O Gauge Big time Help
Hello Everyone,
Well you can all call me Bob to get that out of the way, I'm a 54 yr old man who gained new found youth in trains when I purchased my very own set as an adult this past xmas, the Silver Bell train set.
I started getting back into the past when my dad built me a table train setup in our basement and after time flew by were here now, so here goes for all the people who share the same passion.

What's on your workbench ?
Haven't seen one for January. So here goes.
I've spent all day designing and laser cutting this building. So far the frame is done. I know Michael R can whip one out in minutes, but I'm an amateur. I think I'll call this Richard's Fine Furniture.
Hand-laying track on a long truss bridge
I'm building a wooden truss bridge and I'm almost to the point of installing the rail. The bridge is about 24" long (170 feet HO scale). I'm using ME code 83 rail. Having never hand laid track, I've got a couple questions:
1) How should I attach the rail to the wooden bridge ties while keeping it centered and in gauge? My plan was to use epoxy and spike every 5th or 6th tie. But centering and gauging the rail in the process has me puzzled.

Transporting wood treatment chemicals by rail?
Fellow modelers,
This is my first post on this forum so I'm hoping I did everything right. I've been a modeler for many years and I'm returning to HO after modeling on the dark side of On30 for the past 10 years.
