Trackwork

Micro Engineering , Peco or Central valley tie,proto87 ?
hi all
I begin my new layout and i dont know witch track to choose.Micro Engineering,Peco, central valley tie ,proto87.
I am very crazy for the prototype ! Mainline etc,,,,
I prefer the code 83 and 70 in HO track.
Mike Confalone :; he prefer the Micro Engineering track and turnout.
and you Mr everybody?

The most frustrating part of installing a turnout....
I bought a Tam Valley Servo awhile back, as well as the Moloco mount for it, and finally got my act together tonight to try and install it. I've had the controller part mounted for quite awhile.
It's obviously been a long time since I've done something like this (retrofit an installed turnout for remote operation), since I'd forgotten that trying to feed the throw wire from below through the hole in the turnout is probably the most aggravating thing in model railroad construction.
Atlas turntable
I recently acquired an old Atlas HO turntable. It has the motor unit attached but the belts are either so stretched that they don't work, or (more likely) they are the wrong ones. When I called Atlas, they told me the only belt they have is for a motor unit that uses only one belt. Mine has two belts, with drive shafts on both ends of the motor and two sheaves connecting the drive gear to the table. Does anyone know where replacement belts for this old turntable can be obtained? Or any work-around?

BN Nelson Sub. layout update
Here's an update on some things I've done on the layout.
Turnouts
To All: I need about 26 turnouts to complete the track work on the E.St.Louis Rail Group Layout. So I have been checking the LHS and Ebay for prices. Ouch! You would think they were made of gold or a rare commodity! They are running in the $15.00 to $20.00 price range. So I decided to make a right and left hand #6 turnout using a pattern of my own design. They took way too long to build and I am a quick worker! So I guess it's back to pricing. I don't even mind used ones. Yours, Elvin Howland/E.St.Louis Rail Group Layout
Laying Flex Track
I'm laying flex track for the first time and I'm looking for a rather detailed article that I saw in MRH about laying flex track, but I can't find it. I tried searching in the index but the search turned up nothing. Can anyone tell me what issue the article was in?
Thanks for your help.

Here as I promised, my N Scale layout in operation. Recording with my Blackberry Playbook did not do the sound justice, especially the bass. Hope this interests someone.

The Brandywine & Benedictine Railroad - Suwanee, GA
This is the fourth layout I operated on at Dixie Rails. It is a great example of a well planned layout and a great craftsman. The B & B is in two parts very good investment in time to watch both, many great ideas. You will have to open post to see second link to part II.
