2013 Goals for your Railroad Modeling?

In December 2011 Rick Wade started a thread on goals for 2012. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/6579

I thought it would be interesting to review my goals and see what I accomplished toward those goals. And also look at what I had done that wasn't included in my goals.

Town Plan for Critique

Does this plan for a paper mill town on the bottom side of the peninsula appear well laid out with enough room for switching that won't foul the main or passing siding?

It's revision 7 of a plan for the area. the wharehouse sits over top of a 1 lap helix to gain elevation and space out the scene from the riverbank and bridge scene on the other side of the peninsula so the tail of the train is not still in the previous scene.

This is a snippet of the track planning guide for Marklin C-track. I really like this track and the geometry constraints may limit design, but hey, it also limits design!  Meaning, less time to deliberate, as I am very indecisive!

Street Car Lines

I'm working on a downtown scene for our club layout and would like to have a street car line included in the scene. It has been suggested that I use a silver tape to represent the rails of the street car line; this seems quite lame. I would like to have actual rails imbedded in the street pavement (will be made of styrene). I seem to have seen a system for accomplishing this and to make the street car line operational as well. Does anyone have suggestions?

Working on the track layout for the new board

I have been thinking about what I want from the new main board for my railroad.  I have been working on, as you would say in the USA - or at least John Armstrong used to say - my givens and druthers. These come out as follows:
