Locos - Rolling stock (general)
Converting brass locos to DCC part 05, step 2 Make it run like a dream
I stole the phrase "Make it run Like a Dream" from the trilogy of books, Make it Run Like A Dream by Joe Fugate. They have been extremely helpful for trackwork and rollingstock. I ordered the whole set from the MRH store. I am eagerly awaiting the third book about locomotives.
Like I mentioned, I try to do the least disassembly – more touching means more chance of breaking or losing parts.
Introducing Greggsburg Terminal Rail at Carquinez MRR
In today's video we check out a members private railroad. He brought the set into the club to run at the winter open house. These cars are pure fantasy and the attention to detail is fantastic.
Chessie System MOW cars blog
In this blog I will be posting my modeling efforts in building MOW cars for my Chessie System railroad. Enjoy.
Air Eraser
Pulled out my Harbor Freight air eraser (model #69277) to start weathering a few cars. Cool tool EXCEPT the tip clogs on average about every 5-10 seconds so I spend more time removing it and blowing it out than erasing. Despite that it puts a nice effect on lettering. I’ve been using HF air eraser compound with decent results. Would like to try baking soda too.
Running Extreme Trains in Colorado
Check out the Extreme Trains running at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley, Colorado on Ken Patterson's Dec 17, 2018 podcast. Running 11 locomotives and 283 cars for a complete trip around the layout must have been fun. Rob I think you have some catching up to do.
VIA RAIL Turbo Train by Rapido Trains
VIA Rail Turbo Train rounds a series of bends on the CN Mainline near Trenton, Ontario on the busy Toronto - Quebec Corridor. The Doppler Horn feature on the Rapido Trains Turbo is incredible!

Is it Real or Model?
There are so many great models and photography in these pages that it would be nice to see examples of models that look like the prototype and prototype that could be models. Here is an example - Real or Model?
Kit Cars on Display at Just Trains Shop Layout
Doing some shopping a modeler had his custom cars on display while he ran trains on the store layout.
I know little about these cars nor their prototype so this video is just a showcase of his work.

I started a blog in 2017 to document the creation of my Z scale Alpine layout (all Marklin locos and rolling stock with mixed products for just about everything else). You can see my posts at the end of this page.
I went with Z scale because I wanted to make the most of a layout in a limited space and I had bought some Marklin Z rolling stock, locos and track many years ago for "the day" I would start a layout.
