Locos - Rolling stock (general)
Sources for tiny motors and gearing?
Hello all,
I just got back into model railroading recently and am excited to meet some people and see what you are all up too.
I'm in the prep stages for a project where i want to try to model some early 1900 street cars in N scale. (specifically the Seattle Municipal Railway). I have found tons of good photo reference, so good to go there.
Models vs Prototype Wheel Size
Do you change out the wheelsets on your rolling stock, and if so what have you found?
My small fleet of freight cars is still running on the wheels they came with. I've had them out to paint the centers and could see there were some different sizes but hadn't looked into it further until reading the "Make it Run Like a Dream" series by Joe Fugate.
Connecting Keep Alive to Rivarossi U25C
Has anyone successfully attached a Keep Alive to a Rivarossi U25C motherboard? I attached the Blue wire to pin 16 and the black wire to pin 20 following the drawings on sbs4dcc.com. The Keep Alive does not activate even after several minutes. Am I missing something?
Central Vermont Richford Branch - Video Update #10

3D printed Shay, progress report
Here is an progress report on my 42 ton Shay that I am modeling in On3.
M420 on a mixed train
Here is a trio of M420 on a mixed train through my roughed in scenery on the Hudson Bay Railway. I can't say this ever happened in reality but it is still entertaining listening to the bark of some Alco 251.
