Scenery - Structures

Animated Door / Switching Video

Hi All,

This is a follow up to the original in progress build.  The scene still has some final details to be installed.
The Athearn Genesis GP9 is new and in dire need of weathering, but I wanted to use it to showcase the TCS Wow sound decoder installed in it.
Thanks for watching...

354 Juniper Street

It's Done - 354 Juniper Street - the bungalow gift for Vivian, the wife of my friend and modeling mentor, Bernie Kline, who passed away earlier this month before they could retire to their dream home. Hopefully, now, it will become a cherished memory even as his model railroad "estate" finds new homes.

Buildings from signs

I have been using snipe signs as temporary structures for a while now so i thought I would share a few pictures. For those unfamiliar with snipe signs, they are also called bandit signs, Buy Your House signs, Sell Us Your Car signs, We buy Junk Car signs, etc etc. Where I live they are considered litter and can be removed from the side of the road by anyone. So I do.

Here is an example. This will be Carbitt Paint. A spot for tank cars, 2 loading door spots and a spot for covered hoppers.

Building A Piece Of History Now: Thurmond West Virginia-Backdrops 10/29

I am working on a design for a small scene for demonstrating scenery and track work for out model railroad. It will be small (roughly 1ft. x 1ft. with the front curving) I am looking for design ideas and what an interesting scene would be. Any ideas from those on here?

Thanks for all of your suggestions everyone. Thurmand seemed like a good location and the below area is what we will model. It will include a cantilever signal seen on the right and the three buildings as low relief background structures.
