Who's making this building?

Hi all,

I recently saw this building on a modular layout (HO scale) at the US RR Convention in Rodgau, Germany. I snapped a quick photo but I didn't have a chance to track down the person who built this module and ask: who makes this building?

I haven't been able to find it online (walthers, etc). It would be perfect for an empty lot on my layout.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Guido

Backdrop colour

Hi everybody, I'm building an industrial switching layout and have been putting some taught into backdrop colours. Instead of trying to replicate sky and background buildings using photos etc, I have been thinking about using black colour. One advantage to this is that it emphasizes the structures and groundwork. I have included some photos to show how it looks. Any thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.

Slowly, s l o w l y I'm making progress!

You know, I'd be further along on my railroad if I didn't have to go and visit Michael Rose and eat all that good food! (grin).  Well, I can't really blame him - I'm just SLOW and spend a great deal of time detailing as I go along.  So I am getting close to getting the landform completed for the cabin and in the picture below I've detailed the rocks and added a bunch of greenery.  I'm hoping that I can finish this (just this scene!) before the end of the year.

Cleveland & Eastern RR - Dec 2015 update

I try to gather recent on going construction progress on my layout in this blog here.

While I was busy with other tasks on the railroad, I managed to get my focus on finishing the first section of the Cleveland & Eastern RR - Elizabeth Oaks.

There are several project waiting to be done. Among these I want to discard the "out-of-the-box" East-Grain Mill and replace the two Cornerstone buildings with one scratch built mill complex.

Photos below show the mock-up building

Farm scenes

I hate making trees. That's either either funny or understandable given that my layout will probably require about 10,000 of the HO scale boogers by the time it's complete. Probably I should have modeled eastern instead of western Oregon - I'd need about 100 trees for an eastern Oregon layout.

Gap near a rock shed

I built a rock shed (Timberline) for my HO mid-80's Canadian Pacific layout, then decided to move it. I have repositioned it but now have an un-prototypical gap between the tunnel portal and the shed.

Looking for ideas as to how to either bridge the gap or explain it away!!   -  Phil
