Track and electrical/DCC

Is this ok to glue the track down with?

I don't know if this is the appropriate forum, but here it goes. I went to Home depot to get some Dap latex caulk "grey." But all they had were the white and clear. I have been told to use grey as it is easier to cover with ballast than it is the white. But as usual, nothing is easy with my local Home Depot. They didn't have any, so here are the two I picked up...

Dap Aluminium grey "Dynaflex 230.

And liquid nails for projects.

Older Atlas Turnouts

To anybody out there                   I have quite a few older atlas large turnouts that have never been

Shinohara H0n3

I'm in the planning stage of my H0n3 empire (ahum, a man can dream, right?) and looking around for track. I'm still not sure what to use. It looks like Shinohara is the only track available over here. Is it recommended or should I stay away from it?

Turnout Radius

Is there a source that provides the radius for various turnouts? Specifically I am looking for specs on the Atlas N Code 55 turnouts. Thanks

Code 100 for O Scale/On3 Dual Gauge Trackage

The O Scale Club Layout I am helping rebuild has a section where we want to have Dual Gauge trackage.  Fast Tracks does not make a Dual Gauage point form tool for anything larger than Code 100 Rail.  I have been told by some that O Scale wheelsets to RP-25 standards will run on Code 100 rail.  The equipment is O Scale, NOT Proto-48.   I'[m hoping the answer is yes, because though Fast Tracks does not make O Scale Dual Gauge turnout jigs, using the #6 Point/Frog tool should work in building that part of the turnout, which is the critical section.

Fast Tracks, Micro Engineering, Central Valley, or old school handlay?

I'm looking for some opinions of the more detailed track systems. I recently dismantled my layout due to a move, it was built with Atlas code 83.

Question on adding DCC to non- dcc ready engines...

I got a couple of really good deals on some older Genesis F-7's. Two of them are not DCC ready, so I am going to install sound a DCC to them. Are the motors isolated or will I have to do this? I have not gotten in there yet, and was wondering if any of you have experience with this.

Thanks guys.

Jim Lowery

Mixing Proto 48 track with standard O Scale track

There are some manufacturer's of Proto 48 Flex Track that is significantly less than Micro Engineering and Atlas Flex Track.  Before we purchase any though, we need to find out if the two types can be mixed?  OR is there enough difference in the gauge that they can't.
