Woodland Scenics Tidy Track
As I was down in the basement doing some routine maintenance and track cleaning, I kept thinking about the new Woodland Scenics Tidy Track system. I know that the Tidy Track system was just released, but I was wondering what everyones thoughts were about it? It seems reasonably priced and seems that it might be worth looking into!

Anyone used or built a LocoIO?
Hello all,
I have seen the web page for the LocoIO kits, and am very interested in building some for use on my layout.
Has anyone had any experience with these? Also, where can the kits be purchased?
From the looks of the schematic, I could get most of the parts to build one, except that I have no way of programming the PIC, or etching the board.
Thanks,
Andrew

FREEMO signaling
Does anyone have experience with running a signal system on a FREEMO layout?
What works and what does not work? How is the best way to set this sort of thing up?

crossing signal detection within a signal block - QUESTION REVISED
Guys,
How does one set up a DCC detection circuit to detect several different things in the same "block?"
For example, I have a twelve foot long block. In that length, I need to detect the train for lineside signals, and three railroad crossings. Does that require four detection circuits? How are they wired? How are the gaps cut in the rails? How do the lineside signals know that there are four different sections within a single block?
Does this make any sense?

March MRH Magazine (E-Zine) Bonus Downloads
I really Thought these LED and Servo Videos were great 5 stars each. Everybody make sure you download these Videos on adding a resistor to a chip type LED, Building a small 9 Volt beeper circuit short tester, Setting up a Tam Valley Servo control circuit and more. I've added these to my DCC video library and will use them a dozen or more times I'm sure.
DCC Input of mechanical turnout positions
Within the Deseronto yard the turnouts are operated by manual linkages using the Humyard levers. But I have this perverse urge to display turnout positions on my control panel. My initial thought was to mount a microswitch under the Humpyard lever -- which would toggle between two states. That would be easy to wire up for a single indicator. But I have been wondering if there is any way I could report this into Loconet? I was looking at rrCirkuts TC-64 but it would seem that the input module has been discontinued.
Stubborn turnout
Installed my first two tortoise switch machines today. The first went on an Atlas turnout. Works great.
The second one was installed on an old Shinohara curved turnout that was modified for DCC. As part of the modification, it has wires soldered to the points and the pivots were replaced by rail joiners. This makes the points a bit stiff. I've been using this turnout with no problems at all with a Caboose Industries ground throw. However, it is laughing at the wimpy spring that comes with the tortoise.

MRC USB Computer Interface and MRC's software. Your thoughts?
How many of you use this program? Do you like it? Does it do what you thought it would do?

Zephyr jump ports as the only throttles?
Before I go off and make an expensive and hard to repair mistake, I thought I'd ask the advice of those who've been there.
