Extra lighting functions decoder in a locomotive
Hi folks! I've been working through some of my HO scale motive power and adding DCC/Sound as I go, some are 90s-era Rivarossi, some BLI (brass-hybrid, bluebox, Paragon2 & 3), and some pure brass pieces. Right now I'm working on a BLI 4-12-2 that now has a NixTrainz Decoder Buddy Mini and is awaiting a Loksound 21pin decoder (assuming they ever come back in stock), and a square Scale Sound System Full Force speaker under the coal bunker and a Boiler Barker in the smokebox, in place of the smoke unit.
JMRI
I'm new to JMRI. Trying to set up a roster. I entered the wrong decoder. Is there a way to correct that? Or must I delete and start over?
Atlas Gold factory fitted ESU Loksound V5
Hi. I wonder if someone could confirm that Atlas are now fitting ESU Loksound V5 decoders instead of Loksound Selects to their Gold series diesels. and, if so, which diesel locos were first fitted with the V5.
I recently read a review of the Atlas HO GE U23B and the reviewer mentioned a V5 being fitted. However, on the Atlas website they still show Select decoders being fitted with no mention of V5s.
Thanks

command station / booster power issues
Okay gang,
I finally started hooking up my various Digitrax boosters. I am using a DCS100 8 amp for a command station (HO scale, yes.... Plenty of circuit breakers, yes... )
Installation of Decoder related parts
This is my first decoder installation. I am at a point where I need to mount the decoder, the keep alive and the speaker. My questions relate to the best way to mount these items. Photo below
ABC braking in American DCC decoders.
I know Lenz , Loksound, and Zimo have ABC CV capabilities. Anyone know of any common American DCC sound decoders that have this function ?
Any ideas why this is not supported more by US dcc decoder manufacturers?

Joining HO Peco Code 83 and ME Code 70
Among the new US Track line products from Peco is the SL-115 HO Transition Track for Code 83 -Code 70. As most of my turnouts are Peco US Code 83 (the Code 70 turnouts are now just appearing in US hobby stores) and I like using ME Code 70 for sidings and 1950's yard trackage, I purchased a package of 4 of the new transition sections.
Note that the SL-115 contains a short piece of wire visible from the underside of the track piece soldered to the code 70 and 83 pieces to maintain electrical continuity through the transition.

Photo test to see if it posts

Athearn/Roundhouse HO scale GP38-2 & GP60 issues
I recently purchased some new HO scale Roundhouse (Athearn) GP38-2 and GP60 engines, their latest run. All five came with an NCE decoder installed from the factory.
I took the first GP38-2 out of the box, programmed it to the road number, and then called up the engine using my NCE Power Cab on a separate program track. At step 1, the engine takes off! No, it does not creep like it should. Okay, maybe I have a bad decoder? So I move on to the next engine, another GP38-2 and the same thing happens! I do this 3 more times and all 5 engines take off.
