Atlas #563 Turnout

What is the travel length of throwbar on the Atlas 563/564 turnouts? I need to find ground throws that will work with these turnouts (even if out of scale).

Manufactured Servo Control Board Options

Four months ago I purchased a couple of Tam Valley Depot Octo III servo control boards, with the intention of standardizing on that product for servo control. Earlier this week I found I need at least one more in the near term, then learned the sad news of Duncan McCree's retirement and the death of Jack Eiermann that led to the company downsizing their product catalog, I'll have to look (or build) elsewhere for future needs.

So my questions are:

Digitrax UT6D

Digitrax UT6D Throttle.

I have a UT6D that I have used about 9 months now, It worked perfectly for 5 to 6 months then I noticed on occasion when turning the speed knob it would either return to zero or may jump ahead several numbers. This happened a few times and now it has become more and more the norm, Of course when it returns to zero the train stops and when it jumps ahead the train speeds up a great deal. It does tis no matter the locomotive and does it on battery power or if it is plugged in.

Peco On30 electrofrog switch shorting

I have 3 Peco On30 electrofrog turnouts: a right, left and wye turnout.  all are wired per Peco instructions with the switch powered by the adjacent track.  Inside track is isolated with insulated joiner and all other track is connected via Atlas 100 joiners.  Track is nailed using track nails through the outside of the ties.  Base is painted plywood.  All electrically connected via a common bus. No turntable and no reversing section.

DrDuino

Has anyone ordered and used the DrDuino model railroad kit thats being advertised in the links??.  if you have ..is it semi easy to follow and understand??   My cousin is interested in learning about Adruinos for his small layout.  ive tried to teach him.....but im not much of a teacher.   Hes not a MRH member.  Been trying to get him to join.

Unable to reset decoder in new Atlas FM H16-44

After making some changes using JMRI, I lost the sound in the engine.  I tried resetting the decoder, both through the NCE PowerCab itself and through the ESU LokProgrammer.  Neither is resetting the decoder.

Using the NCE I select Programming Track, set CV 8 to 8, escaped out, and then take the engine off the track for 10 seconds.  Put the engine back on the track and it won't respond to 3, only the four-digit engine number I previously programmed in.  Same thing happens when using the ESU LokProgrammer.

Soldering No-Ox treated track

I just finished attaching all my feeder wires to the 4 individual buss wires coming into my helix space. And I cleaned all the track with mineral spirits and extremely fine emery type sandpaper.

My thoughts are this is a good time to apply some No-Ox to the tracks in the helix, and leave it set for a week or so before wiping if off (BTW I do know the caution about applying it lightly). My question is if I should eventually decide to put additional feeder wires on some of the track sections, how difficult is it to solder track that's been treated with No-Ox ??

DC wiring test verses DCC final wiring

I've been finishing up my buss and feeder wiring of the lower deck of my layout (and by extension the external helix structure).

soundtraxx econami onboard led

Hello all,

Is there a way to disable to onboard LED on a soundtraxx econami decoder via CV setting somewhere?  The light is visible how I have the decoder mounted.  And, no, remounting it is not practical.

If not, any suggestions how to turn it off?  Ideas coming to mind include burning the LED off with a soldering iron or covering it with black tape.

Thanks in advance

Fast Tracks: stock rails bend after filing?

I've now made a handful of turnouts with the FT fixtures, and they're coming out generally OK.

I have two issues, possibly related.
