BC Rail Dawson Creek Sub - Update 5
I haven't done much on the layout since the last update. The first module is still approximately 80% complete. I moved at the end of April but haven't started setting anything up yet. My new layout room is a very different shape from the rectangle I used to have, so I drew up a new plan in AutoCAD. Hoping to get the first module moved from my dad's house and start on more modules working westward this winter.
Conserving historic buildings as models
I always thought this trackside building in Hadley, MA looked interesting. It is in severe disrepair and probably cannot be preserved. I hope to make an accurate model to save a version of it.
Building the Buildings
I did not do a lot of work on the layout through the summer, but I never stopped building stuff, specifically buildings.
A couple of new houses for the town. Got to house the mine workers.
Modelling the Port of Tillamook Railroad – GP9 3771 and of course 101
When I came back to Model trains, I didn't want to do european stuff again (I'm living in Germany). It just had no real appeal to me. So I started trying severel stuff, had a small venture into On30, until after a trip to Oregon I settled on the Port of Tillamook Railroad. The combination of the Pacific coast and the vast forest with steep valleys just did it for me. And, being a shortline, it's perfect for HO.
Trackwork now mostly complete on my 009 layout
Today I recorded a new episode of News from my modelrailway room. These time entirely focused on my 009 Isle of Skye Railway.
