Russian Narrow Gauge locomotives.

In this blog I want to talk about Russian narrow gauge locomotives and how I am modelling them in TTe (1:120 on 6.5mm track). TT is still popular in Europe, and there is a slow increase in North American rolling stock in TT also. But Russia is where it is all happening!

Two references for these locos are listed below. They are both in Russian, but Google Translate is your friend.

A Rock Crusher in HO Scale

What's Benny been up to?  I rarely hold still and if I'm busy, there's a very good chance I'm working on Something that's keeping everything else at bay.  This year it has been moving back to the US from South Korea, taking a month vacation to Thailand, and then getting tied up in San Antonio for 8 weeks of training.  Between all of this, though, I have been working on whatever has caught my fancy - which at the moment is collecting prototype material for a wide variety of construction vehicles because lo behold many of the old brochures include dimensiona

October and fall is here....a trip to the new Rails to Trails in Tonawanda.

Just a quick one today, had a rare lazy Sunday and some beautiful fall weather, decided to check out the new Tonawanda Rails to Trails.  This past summer, they extended the trail along the former Erie Railroad line from North Buffalo to Tonawanda across Ellicott Creek into East Park.  They used most of the existing alignment and the old Erie bridge with new decking.  This trail runs close to the CSX Niagara Falls line, former NYC.  A pleasant place to walk and also some good places to watch trains.

New Bridge at Blue Island

A new thought on the operation of my pike has prompted another remodel.  This iteration will provide for a continuous run option that I found I really missed with the Point-to-point style I had.  A new main-line configuration through Blue Island and crossing of the Cal-Sag Channel, and new main-line track in Riverdale will accomplish this.  For this to take place, the old cal-Sag bridge and indeed the Cal-Sag itself was remodeled.

First, some photos shown here of the old bridge:
