Proto 2000 0-6-0 Loco Linkage Problem -- Help Solicited

Probably two years ago when I bought this Walthers proto 2000 heritage USRA 0-6-0 loco with sound the linkage on the right side fell out of the socket on the rear driver. I posted here and did follow up with the Walthers support line - which is a Canadian number for this product, no doubt driven by where I live. Not much help at all.

Graphite on the rails = better performance!

Fellow On30 modeler Larry Knapp visited my layout recently, and he mentioned using graphite on the rails to help with conductivity. I had heard of that trick, but tried the contact cleaners (CRC-20, etc.) hoping they would do the trick. Problem is, it is hot where I live in the summer, and opening the windows is usually not a pleasant option. Also, the stuff it toxic, and the less toxic materials I have to deal with after 45 years in the hobby, the better!

Reboxx Wheelsets out of square?

Has anybody experienced problems with Reboxx wheels being out of square?

I have a pack of 1.045" axle length 36" wheel sets and most of them seem to be out. One wheel is tipped in slightly.

All three locomotives work

I've spent some time over the past few weeks with the QD electronics cleaner with limited success. I finally took today off and got out my Xacto knife and scraped a bit of carbon from the brushes area of the Bachmann GP50. It now runs pretty well, but I think I will order a new motor for it. That should fix it right up.

More Uses for 3D Printing Around the Layout

So you have heard all kinds of things about what modelers are doing with 3D printing to assist in their rolling stock, locomotive and structure builds. How about some some more basic items to spruce up your layout?
