Santa Fe yard mid 70s to late 90s - Building ideas needed

We are building the edge of Industrial town and a small piggy back yard for containers (think that is what it is called). On the front gray part near the control box. What we are after is a few ideas, photos of some industries or just general ideas on what might work. I have a cornerstone pallet loader to go near the closet gray building and am scratch building a boxcar drive in factory for this end. near bridge. The backdrop is to get some more layers on it then one of the club members who is a wiz with the airbrush art will spray in some awesome trees.

Control the World with Simple Logic Circuits

The model railroad hobby is full of gadgets that are fun to control-- motors, lights, turnout motors. It is also full of contraptions that can control them ranging from crude to sophisticated-- manual switches, detectors, computer boards. Whenever I have to connect a control contraption to a gadget, I have to pause. How do these things connect together? This is not a trivial consideration. It is often possible to damage, even destroy either or both by making the wrong choice.
