Whether it pours Heavy, Salty, or Fresh water is really not the problem. Years ago the hydro-electric plant was shut down, when the new Porcupine Valley Power Company's wood fired steam generators went on line. The hydro plant was never consistent enough, with water flow, to supply the power needs of the whole town and the saw mill. It served it's purpose, with limited power when the mill and the other power plant was being built. Once it was not needed anymore, the pipe lines now just allow water to flow through the dam and most often, there is no water at all. In the spring, with snow melt and rains, there is often a steady flow, but never much to write home about. In the winter period the other side of the dam, makes for a great skating and hockey rink. The semi-pro baseball teams from the two bars in the valley, switch to play semi-pro hockey behind the old hydro plant and fans watch from seating notched into each hill side. The teams use the old hydro plant for their dressing rooms and concession stand. There are scheduled games every Saturday afternoon, weather permitting.

I hope that helps to clear up a lot of the concerns, about the water issues, brought up in earlier replies. As for the name of the Paddle Company, that has now been relocated on the other bank of the river, the Board of Directors at their last bullshit meeting, settled on "UP the Creek Paddle Company" and is working on getting the sign changed before the Porcupine Valley makes it's temporary move to Minnesota in the fall of 2018.

Legal Issues

Check to be sure that the name you are usiing doesn't violate any copyrights - - especially if you publish anything about your layout and buildings in a public forum. I seem to remember an article on FB about a company that has the rights to that particular name on T-shirts etc.

Just check - advice from a retired ad agency owner. . . .

Super Duper Advice Mister Calhoun

When it comes to copyrights you can never be too sure your traveling down the right path. The internet is one thing, where a for profit publication spins a web of its own. Even to use "Oars are Us" could be covered by somebody. While trying to wade through this swamp, it is still easy to find yourself in quick sand! Thank you for your concern, especially in these times of P.C. gone amuck.
