Santa Fe yard mid 70s to late 90s - Building ideas needed Journals/Blogs

We are building the edge of Industrial town and a small piggy back yard for containers (think that is what it is called). On the front gray part near the control box. What we are after is a few ideas, photos of some industries or just general ideas on what might work. I have a cornerstone pallet loader to go near the closet gray building and am scratch building a boxcar drive in factory for this end. near bridge. The backdrop is to get some more layers on it then one of the club members who is a wiz with the airbrush art will spray in some awesome trees. Will post some of his concrete graffiti tha is near the bridge in the foreground.

The control panel is to replaced and mounted into the side skirting. The road is to go in behind green building then come out passed the third one and ill build a road down the track to the other industries. Does anyone have an idea for the station. I have one maybe two mi-jacks to go on the front grey road.

Ideas would be great on how we might make the join between the upper track and the buildings?

Have done more work so will take some more photos tonight. Ideas or prototype photos of some buildings as we are all the way in New Zealand and need some ideas.

Progress and detail ideas

we have made more progress the town is now flat and am putting down some foam board to build up a road.

Does anyone know of a good chain link fence and gate kit to use - or i might make one not sure yet.

Also looking at other roof details and where to purchase them from?

Does anyone have an idea for the station.

   I've seen old depots used as maintenance of way supplies storage buildings after the passenger business ended. I've also seen them sold and used as real estate offices and restaurants.  Since yours is between tracks the railroad would likely use it for some of their needs or tear it down if not needed.   

    There have been some recent threads here on making chain link fences , you might be able to find them with the search function....DaveB

Looking fro some Santa Fe Depot plains so I can scratch build a depot for the freelance area we are building at present.

Tracks and era

There are two tracks that service the area not to sure of exact but parts are based near raton pass as there is coal and also parts on other part of layout are along the lines of techapea and cayon.

On a running session it can Easley take you 10mins to get around the layout as it is rather huge, and there is alot of freelance in here so area is not to specific. Will mount my gopro onto a flat car and compile a video of a busy all in no timetable session ( these are fun ) as we have a few excitable young members but these are the future of the club so we encourage them

I am mainly modeling just on per double stack train era back to mid 70s when sd40-2s, c30-7s were the kings.

Not really sure if it should be a freight depot pasenger. Just ned a few ideas.

Ill show you the other end of the yard with the wharf and container ship, cranes etc that needs more detail yet but is coming along.

Any ideas suggestions would be great.
