GLENDALE AZ DEPOT FINALLY COMES TO MY LAYOUT

to all...here are a couple of pics of the depot in glendale az. & also a short summery of it's history.

i was going to scratch build this structure but , one day when i was on ebay, i found this plasticville model that is very close to the prototype. so i thought for $10.00 i would take a chance. when i received the kit, i was surprised to see it was a snap together kit.

The Detroit Terminal East Industrial Track

Just added another blog post with background about the Detroit Terminal Railroad that I'm planning. I'm taking elements of the former Detroit Terminal, as well as the modern-day Conrail Shared Assets in Detroit to proto-freelance a model of the Detroit Terminal in the modern era. This post takes a look at the Detroit Terminal Industrial Track, which once formed the eastern end of the real-life DTRR.

Santa Fe Fonts?

Does anyone know what font the Santa Fe RR used on their depots for their "SANTA FE" signs...?

I know Veranda looks similar, but I would like to know what the prototype used...

Thanks

Jimmy

Helpful Hints for Getting Started Building your first Model Railroad

Hello Everybody My name is Dan Kelley AKA: Rio Grande Dan here on the MRH forums.

I'm a member of the MRH Spam Police and spend 40 to 60 hrs a week reading through the many Posts and Blogs here on the MRH forums. While reading I keep seeing one problem that many new Model Railroaders are having and that is "WHERE & HOW DO I START?"

100th Anniversary T&P Historic Station and Events with PHOTOS

For those of you looking for something to do on October 20th, 2012, please check out the attached Red River Valley Railroad Historical Society newsletter.  If you are in East Texas or what we call the ArkLaTex area (Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas, where the three states come together) you have an opportunity to visit and photograph the UP 844.

Enjoy!
