Detroit Terminal - The Belt Line Industrial Track
I just posted my final entry in a series of blog posts about the Detroit Terminal Railroad and my plans to model a modern-day, proto-freelanced version. Please check it out at http://detroitterminal.blogspot.com/, and feel free to let me know what you think.
After nearly a year of research - due mainly to the pesky intrusions of real life - I'm ready to start turning all this information into an actual model railroad. I'll continue to update my blog to show my progress, so stay tuned!

The Detroit Terminal East Industrial Track
Just added another blog post with background about the Detroit Terminal Railroad that I'm planning. I'm taking elements of the former Detroit Terminal, as well as the modern-day Conrail Shared Assets in Detroit to proto-freelance a model of the Detroit Terminal in the modern era. This post takes a look at the Detroit Terminal Industrial Track, which once formed the eastern end of the real-life DTRR.
Detroit Terminal Railroad: Highland Park Industrial Track
It's been a very productive couple of days. Once again, I've added a new post over at Motor City Rollercoaster, my blog about modeling a modern day version of the Detroit Terminal Railroad. In this installment, I take a detailed look at the relatively short but operationally challenging Highland Park Industrial Track.
I hope you enjoy it.

Detroit Terminal Railroad: The Union Branch
It has been quite some time since my last post, but my family and I are now settled in the Chicago area, and life is beginning to get back to normal. I just added a new post on my blog, Motor City Rollercoaster, which chronicles my planning and (eventual) construction of a proto-freelanced modern-day Detroit Terminal Railroad. Please check it out, I hope you enjoy!

The Dearborn Industrial Track
Made another blog post today about my proto-freelanced modern day Detroit Terminal railroad. Today's topic was the Dearborn Industrial Track.
As always, I'd be happy to hear your thoughts.

Planning Stages
It's time for me to quit lurking and start posting. I just relocated to the Chicago area, and once we close on our house in about a month, at last I'll have a decent-sized basement once again. For the last five years, my modeling attempts have been confined to single-car garages and utility rooms jam-packed with other stuff, so that the prospect of making regular progress was nigh impossible. Shuffling out into a dim, damp, cold garage in the middle of an Ohio winter to work on the railroad meant that I didn't do it very often.
