Paper Models
I was wondering if anybody knew of any websites that had free cardstock structures and other models I like the look of them and it would be greatly appreciated
Gang Car to Steeple Cab
I am rebuilding a Lionel gang car into a steeple cab. It won't be prototypical, but will be very close to a steeple cab. Main difference is mine has one truck, and larger wheels. I'll post some pictures of how it is progressing. I have already started, considering on doing an interior. I'll put pics in when I have the time to shoot some. This project is being made out of low budget materials. No, wait. I meant "no budget" materials! I'll try to get in posts once a day, if I can. It's gonna be a slow project.
Winter Blahs
I was in Barrie on the weekend visiting the in-laws and as we drove over a BCRY crossing, I saw something troubling...the right of way was completely buried in pristine, untouched whiteness and the snowbanks lining either side of the crossing showed no signs of being disturbed. My guess is that there has been no activity on the line for at least three weeks.
BQR Control Panel Mark II continued
I have been working with the panel for some weeks now, sorted out a couple of electrical issues. Played with it enough to realize that while my basic idea was sound, some of the LED placements were suboptimal. Essentially I had been struggling with how to signal the thing -- on a layout this small probably overkill but it did provide some measure of idiot-proofing for areas that were obscured from the command location. Anyhow, it has been fun and is starting to make some sort of sense.
Street Running
Is there anyone who can give me some photos of street running and some info on how you did it I would like to write an article to send in to MRH if possble.
Thanks for the help trainmaster247
Another Blog by the Kid
I love to see all the comments I recive and especially the fact that they are all nnice a tthing I have noticed from the model railroad community. If you can look at my other posts I am looking for some HO scale supplies cheap/donated or some chicago area operating sessions.
The Dying age of children in model railroading (by a 13 year old child)
I have noticed a dying amount of railoraders in magazines and just in general. In my school I am the only person into railroading and sadly get made fun of for it. I will be working on a blog with short entries each day consisting of my experiences and ways to get people interested.
Colorado Front Range Railroad Febuary 2015 update and a look at lighting the layout with LEDs
New Job has kept me very busy but we have a new video update on the Colorado Front Range Railroad. A look at the work in Palmer Lake and our first experiment into LED layout lighting. One time laps of Jonathan working on the computer wiring.
Enjoy the video and Happy model railroading

Encourage new modelers
If we are going to get more people into model railroading, some myths need to be dispelled. One is that it is an expensive hobby.
Do not get too excited yet. I will be leaving MRH...Kind of.
It has come to my attention that I'm no longer welcome at MRH at this time. I have got the hints from the anonymous your uninvited and should leave email some time back. then from a few post in the forum that suggest I should leave and the post about avoiding to preferred authors and personal author black lists people wish not to read etc. etc. To the many e-mails directed to Joe that I should be banned or leave.
