"Walking Tour" video of Brian Clogg's BCR Squamish Division layout
A second layout featured in the Vancouver Train expo Virtual Layout Tours was Brian Clogg's BCR Squamish Subdivision Layout. The video is a walking tour of 2/3rds of his extensive system wherein your humble narrator peppers Brian with questions about his layout's design, construction and operations and Brian does his best to diligently respond.
Brian and I hope you enjoy the tour!

Video of Steam Pusher Operations on the CPR's Coquihalla Subdivision
At this weekend's Vancouver Train Exposition, modelers were treated to a "Virtual Layout Tour" of four local layouts. Sitting in the grandstands of the Forum on the Pacific National Exhibition fair grounds, an estimated 40 to 50 attendees grabbed bags of popcorn, kicked back with their friends, and watched videos recently shot on these 4 layouts all projected in high resolution onto a large screen.
Paper Mill Coming Together
Long time working, but starting to see significant progress on my freelanced Inland Empire Paper Mill. It's one side of a 10 foot peninsula, 13 inches wide at the base, and 28 inches wide on this side at the blob at the end.
Trains Across America series again.
Want to see Trains Across America series again. With the popularity of DCC it seems appropriate.
DECAL SETTING SOLUTION
Does anyone know an alternative to commercial decal setting solutions? Isopropyl or denatured ethanol work?
Thanks

Mantua Steam Re-Motoring - What's the current thinking?
I know some may turn their noses up at old Mantua steamers running in DC-only mode, but I have several that I really love and would like them to run smoother. Most of the threads on this topic are pretty old, now, and the solutions are outdated. I have a couple of factory can motor Mantuas that are extremely smooth and one Camelback that has a Helix Humper inside. I plan to take these apart and try to figure out what's actually going on. And some of the open-frame motor units are very smooth and quiet.

Need some help from the electronics wizards re: transistors and relays
Need some help from the electronics wizards here.
I know what I need (at least I think I do) but I don't know exactly what I need.
I have a device that outputs 1v AC. When it is switched on, I want it to in turn switch on another device that outputs 12-16v DC.
I believe I need to connect a transistor to the 1v AC output and then said transistor to a relay which is connected to the 12-16v DC output device.
