Paint recommendation requested
I'm looking for what would be the best paint to repaint some Walthers AMTRAK cars from the early silver paint to a realistic metal paint like they're selling them with now.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Upper level access to model buildings
While building a row of store front buildings for a small downtown scene on my layout, I noticed none of the two and three story buildings I chose had any visible means of access to the upper floors on the front of the building. Normally there would be an entry way door to one side or the other of the first floor business, but none of the buildings I have built have one. I have six different building models, not one has a door for upper floor access. My buildings are all kits from either Woodland Scenic’s/DPM or Walthers Cornerstone.

Moving layout — feeling optimistic
Every time I have looked at my layout and think about taking it apart, i have been kind of depressed. Now I realize that in the new space — 1/2 a garage, I can do a lot of redesign to make it a better layout.

Atlas Classic HO RS-1 DCC and sound conversion
Those who follow my post know all about my new ( to me) Atlas RS-1. Showed up in the mail today and looks to be in good shape. I had the straighten the horn, saw it after I took the pics, but all is well.
There is an exploded diagram but no other info. The best I've been able to track down is NP #'s 800 and 802 released in 2015 but no #801. To complicate things, the Atlas catalog #8864 most often points me to an N scale covered hopper.
I just want to figure out exactly how close to DCC ready it is and what my sound decoder options are.
Rusty Pipes
On a nice sunny, warm couple of days, I experimented making some rusty pipes out of a couple sizes of plastic straws. Some straws were opaque black, others were translucent brown.
Here's brief description of what was done:
Sprayed the straws with either Walmart's "Color Choice" flat black or Rustoleum flat brown.
