Handrail posts for 4-6-0

Am looking for replacement brass handrail posts for Roundhouse 4-6-0 (part no. 2L-211). No luck with extensive net searches. Any suggestions based on experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Dirt Source

I've been helping some friends of mine do some remodel work in their house and pulled up some carpet in their hall way and discovered a great source of very fine dirt. It is a powder, no sifting needed. I will run it through the oven just to be safe. Got about a cup's worth and will get the same tomorrow

A possibility to keep in mind if the opportunity comes up.

Jack.

Plaster/hydrocal and where to buy

I'm going to need soon some plaster to coat over the plaster gauze which is over the cardboard lattice subscenery.

What is the recommended type of plaster to cover over with a thin even coat?  What types are used in model RR scenery and which are appropriate for which uses?  I'm aware that Hydrocal has been used for many years to make rock molds, but what about covering the gauze, which is semi porous?

What are good economical sources for bags of plaster products?  HD? Lowes? other stores?

DOMTAR Pulp and Paper Mill

The DOMTAR Pulp and Paper Mill is a freelanced modern industry inspired by a mill that operated near my hometown up until the early 2000s. It represents my third attempt at a personal switching layout, preceded by two unfinished versions. My improved understanding of operations, layout design, and various construction and modeling skills prompted the change. To save money and time I'm recycling most of my previous bench-work, control hardware, and structures.

Atlas Pier Set modeling question

Hey guys I am to a point in the layout where I don't know how to hide the pier set that I used to traverse up to second level.  I want to somehow make it look like a hill or something but I seriously lack in the artistic ability.  I would much rather run them around the layout LOL.  Any help and pictures would be great.  Thanks Keith

Fun with SMD LEDs

I was excited by some videos I saw about using SMD LEDs for lighting in locomotives. I knew I wanted to try this and looked around online for the sizes etc... of SMDs. I found an excellent image that shows visually what the sizes are in comparison.
