Can someone help me to interpret these pictures of a sawmill?
Hullo folks,
Recently I've been making various evergreen trees based on tutorials I found. I'm having fun with this, and was thinking of using my trees in a diorama, which led to me researching New York Central stuff in the Adirondacks. I've discovered an interesting website about the sawmill at Reynoldston NY but could do with some advice about what's likely to be going on here.

Considering joint bars / fishplates...cautions, tips, advice?
Greetings all,
I'm considering adding joint bars to HO scale code 70 and code 83 track. I'm sold on it from an aesthetic perspective, but I'm a little concerned from an operational standpoint--specifically, the potential for the joint bars on the inside faces of the rails to cause derailments. Note that I'm looking at using the Details West and/or Precision Design Co. products. Also, while most of my wheels are semi-scale, the track in question is on a Free-Mo module that will host a very wide variety of rolling stock.

Union Station Engine Facility Completion - Step by Step
Even though the ATSF Paradigm Division is still in the plywood prairie style of scenery, it is now, with the completion of the Union Station Engine Facility, 100% functionally complete and operational in DCC. The first video is done in a slide format and shows the general step-by-step construction & completion of the engine facility in three phases over a two month time period (June thru August 2016). Areas of emphasis have been annotated on the individual slides and/or have additional information provided before each section of the video.
Summer Progress
It's been a while since the last update on my layout, so I thought it might be time to update the good readers on MRH as to what's new. I'll place the pictures at the beginning of this post.
Thanks for following along!

Mock up lumber yard
Mocked up where the lumber yard will be going and decided to add a little something fun. A sliding gate. Now please excuse the crudeness of the gate and the fence. This is just a mockup to see how it might look. Couldn't figure out how to upload a video to this site so here is a link to YouTube.

Proto 2000 Heritage Steam Collection 2-8-8-2 Locomotive Parts (Need a drawbar)
I need a drawbar to replace a broken one on a Walthers Heritage Steam 2-8-8-2 mallet locomotive. Does anyone have any idea who has or sell parts for these locomotives?
Thanks

Point me to a good tutorial on signaling
Now that construction has commenced on the layout and the track is down and wired on the first section (I'm building it in sections, completing them one at a time from benchwork through scenery then bolting them together) I'm in the detailed planning stage of the next section which will be mostly mainline (the section I am presently building is an industrial area). I want to incorporate signaling as I build rather then add it later.

Bachmann Vanderbilt Tender Problems
I am in the process of turning the Bachmann 2-8-0 into a class C-13 (a total foobie) #2870 one of two engines purchased from an Oregon lumber line (#2869-2870) that was dieselized in the late 1940's. I have not tried the dome modification yet.
