Any interest in another JMRI OperationsPro worked example?

I've spent a fair amount of time over the last week or so exploring OperationsPro to see if it will do what I want for the Office Park zone. The previous worked example done by David Haynes (pdf here) is a great resource and provides lots of foundational information. However, it only deals with a single industry spur and the cassette doubles as both staging and storage.

Loco runs too fast speed step 1

Hey everyone I am trying to speed match my locos but I have found about 7 of them that just run too fast on speed step 1.  I have decreased CV2 to 0 and they still go like a rocket.  I read on another post that you could try and lower the CV5 and CV6 to a lower value.  I have done this as well and still the same result.  Its like there is no super slow speed and I can't figure out how to change it or even slow it down.  I am using mainly Digitrax decoders with a couple Lenz thrown in as well.

Milwaukee Road - Planning a Layout

This posting is to describe some of the useful web resources that I have used to plan my shelf layout that is based on Milwaukee Road trackage in southern Minnesota.  My planned layout is based on Milwaukee Road trackage from Jackson Minnesota to Pipestone Minnesota.

Genesis MP15AC

I would like to hear from someone who has installed a Keep Alive(or any other brand) capacitor in an Athearn Genesis MP15AC.  I would like to know what brand, installation hints, etc.

Thanks,

Decals for backdrops?

Hi all, I was thinking about the problems of adding photos to backdrops. If the whole thing including the sky is part of the photo it requires a very tall print and if one just prints the lower part with trees and structures and glues it onto a painted sky it requires a lot of trimming and blending to get a realistic look to the upper edge of the tree line, etc.  So I'm wondering if a backdrop decal could be printed to be applied to a painted sky?

Allagash - Sunny day on the New Portland Branch with a Maine Central Alco!

Here's a follow-up to the New Portland Branch pics. This series depicts a chase up and down the New Portland Branch.

With the Allagash integration into Guilford, power mixes between railroads. Today, we have the last remaining Maine Central Alco - RS11 802 on the New Sharon Switcher. The crew takes a run up the New Portland Branch on a couple of different days.

dual-mode NMRA-compliant decoder

If a loco comes with a dual-mode NMRA-compliant decoder, does this mean it will run on a DC system also? Would one have to take the loco apart or would it work right away on the DC track?
