Supporting the backdrop masonite sheets

I am installing the 2x4 and 2x2 verticals to attach the masonite sheets to for my backdrops. This backdrop wall rises 30 inches above the track height. Its on the peninsula so both sides will get masonite. I did a search and most people use drywall screws to attach the masonite to the 2x lumber. I am thinking maybe I want to use construction adhesive. Possibly use screws in the field where clamping is difficult and clamping it top and bottom.

Warning extreme engine power inside

In 1959 a total of 19 electric locomotives started to pull iron ore to the coast in Sweden. These were at the time the most powerful electric locomotives in Europe (the world?).

Snapshots on the mountain

Work progresses steadily on the TSR. While the railroad is set in the 1990's in New England, a friend stopped by with his steam engines to do some track testing. I find there is no better test of track reliability than running various steam engines with different wheel configerations. I am happy to report that we had only 1 minor derailment. Things are looking good.

Idea's for scrap yard

Now that  have my main yard track in place, I can start thinking about filling in some of the structures and details.  The photo below shows an area with a spur I would like to put in some sort of scrap yard to park a couple of gondola's for unloading or loading - not a lot of room for buildings there except maybe a small yard office building or shed and some fencing to surround the end of the spur.

The largest area is in the foreground between the fascia and the single track spur - probably about 5 inches between the spur and the yard lead thats behind it.

Need Help on Track plan HO scale in Rio Grande 1986-1987

Hi Guys

I am starting to plan a HO scale layout modeling the Rio Grande in 1986-1987 just before the Southern Pacific brought them. Them room size is 13ft x 20ft ive been looking around for ideas and have found some it does need to have staging under the layout as well.

I do have all my loco fleet and rolling stock as well and it will be running a NCE DCC wireless system.

Thanks

How to Model Peeling Paint

Hi All, this weeks video is on how to model peeling paint using the hairspray technique:

Framework on the G&D Sorethroat branchline extended and a locomotive question

In the last few days I extended the layoutframe to the place of the passing station. Pictures will follow soon.

I'm wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for another small steam engine for the G&D Sorethroat branch.

So could you tell me the length of the Bachmann Alco 2-6-0 and the older Bachmann 2-6-0?

Thank you

Markus

New [Free] Switch List Generator (V 1.1)

A new version of my earlier spreadsheet is now available and is being used on a fully operating (not merely switching) layout.

New functionality involves the ability to handle multiple (up to 3) types of cars at a given slot, handle specific manually assigned cars by car markings and provide a (manual) communication medium between train crews and Agent/Operators responsible for various stations, both within a session and across sessions

Digitrax DS64 output capacity

I have a Digitrax DS64 I would like to use to remotely operate a Walthers/Shinohara double crossover.  The crossover will require 4 Tortoise machines to operate.  I'd like to run all 4 Tortoise machines from the 001 output of the DS64.  Can a single output of the DS64 drive 4 switch machines at the same time with no issues?

Thanks!
