connecting same LED to 2 different light functions

I've a TCS T1 DCC module installed in an FD7A with a headlight and MARS light.

I plan on using another of the same modules in an F3, with only a headlight.......nothing new about that, BUT here come the question/idea:

I'd like the single headlight to function as a headlight or a MARS light on command, so I can use it like a ditch light sort-of.....so when the loco is running down the track, it'd just be a headlight, but when I press a function key (which one is TBD), it will act as a MARS light. No decoder that I know of offers this ability.

Need help identifying spurs

I have a track chart of the Western Maryland out of Port Covington as seen below. I am looking for help identifying the industries that were located here. I am hoping someone may have some info to help fill in the blanks. The numbered areas are what I am looking for info on.

Another structure, and a new FB page for my layout

I've created a new FB page to make discussion and sharing of my modeling easier, and create a kind of permanent repository for lots of photos. I updated my own blog with some of the reasons for creating the page:

The new FB page is here:

Plate Girder Bridge (trestle), semi-scratch built HO

Hi all,

I have built for my current layout a 3-span plate girder bridge (2 x 50' and 1x30' center span). It is loosely based on ATSF prototypes for wooden deck (with ballasted track) plate girder bridges. It is almost finished from a modeling perspective (no ballast yet) and has been temporarily installed in the layout in order to serve its purpose.

Woodland scenics modules

Being that my layout will use the TOMA format, I am left wondering,  if anyone has tried using the WS modules to create their layout, and what was you experience taking this route? Would you use them again.  Other than the perk of all the scenery Stuff, I am reminded of what Joe said about foam in a few other posts.

Sheet Metal Fabricating Plant

I started work on a project that's been on the back burner for a few years. Using the Walther's Superior Paper as a starting point I am constructing a large sheet metal fabricating plant. It will hide the AC return that protrudes into the layout area. There will be a tank car unloading track at the west end with multiple tanks. The east end will have two tracks that will enter that plant for delivery of raw materials and shipping of finished products. It will be about six feet long when all done and will be the largest industry on the layout.

New power for the Milan branch

After about a four year wait, Intermountain Railway Co. came through and delivered their GP10s. All I can say is it was worth the wait. They are beautiful!

I can’t comment on their run quality because I will be installing Loksound v4 decoders with iPhone speakers later, but I’ve already seen a YouTube video that shows them running and they look nice and smooth.

The two units I purchased have engine specific details such as varied Horst filters, etc. Sweet stuff!

Consisting and BEMF

I am working on speed matching a pair of locos for the first time. Both have NCE DA-SR decoders installed. I have been advised from a fellow club member to turn off BEMF in a consist, but I can't find any info on how to do this with NCE decoders. I am doing this manually as I don't have JMRI yet. Anyone able to help?;
