Styrene banding on strip tank cars. Having some issues?

I have a set of 6 tichy tank cars on my bench.

Im on to the banding that wraps the tank. It is made from 1" x 4" styrene strip. The issues im having is when i glue and apply any pressure to the straps they are snapping. even if the band has set all the way around the tank it is getting cracks in in and flaking off.

I hvae only done this on one car at the moment but im curious if anyone has experienced this with thin styere or could it be something to do with the age?

Im using Zap CA to glue the joints.

Semaphore Operation

Hey all, looking to operate my SP style dual semaphores. I've seen the tech out their by tam valley etc but my problem is, is that I have dual dc analog motors connected to operate my signals. Is their a simple diy cheap way of operating them while the block is occupied? I was thinking of an photo cell sensor so when its triggered at point A arm moves and does not go back until the next point is reached. Any ideas? Thanks!

POB and signaling

Let's assume you have a Power On Board (POB) loco that has batteries and is completely isolated -- it doesn't trickle charge and it doesn't need any rail power ever. It's the future and it does wireless charging of the battery.

Let's also assume you have decided like I have that power on the rails is the most realistic way to do signaling. With resistance wheelsets on your rolling stock, even one car left sitting in a siding somewhere will trigger the signals just like the prototype.

NCE Procab Help to Hook up Magna Force Power Supply

I have a NCE Procab and a Magna Force power supply from DCC Specialties.

It has three wires to hook up to my NCE system. Can anyone show me how these hook up?

China Project | Coal Mine

I have a lot of luck. Like really, I am one lucky guy. I have a small following and in that following are some very generous people. And in this project, I intend to meet their generosity in kind. This project will take a long time and I am happy to say that's alright. The client just wants to watch the videos along with you. And that is pretty cool.

Bruce Petrarca Articles Capacitors and RailPro.

Bruce Petrarca has an article in October 2017 MRH regarding "RailPro makes things easy". Also Bruce wrote an article past August 2017 in MRH regarding capacitors i.e. keepalive type systems.

Question? Will the same capacitor system (Keep-alive, Current keeper etc) he details in August issue work just the same in a straignt DC powered layout and/or with the RailPro power supply.

Will capacitors (Keep-Alive etc.) be needed with RailPro?

Adding Weight to Articulated Locos

I've heard a number of stories about the lack of pulling power among any number of articulaed steam engines. Perhaps they have just toooo many wheels distributing that weight of theirs....ha...ha.

Interesting track plan, Tupper Lake & Faust Junction

This plan appeared in the Handbook #15, Track Planning Ideas from Model Railroader, (58 track plans from past issues), multiple printings beginning in 1981.

I'm interested in posting a scan of that layout plan from my issue of that magazine, so that it might be discussed here on the forum. BUT, I can not find an active webpage reference to that track plan to make a proper link to it.

So I suppose I can post my copy of the layout plan since I have gone to the trouble of trying to find an archived one, and given due respect to the original author/source
