Need bolts washers for TT bridge

I soon will be mounting wood lips to the edges of my TT's bridges deck.

Does anyone know what type of bolts I should use? Would they be similar to those used on crossbeams on bridges?

I'm looking for something like seen on this TT's deck.

Also does anyone know what those bolts are in the centre of the bridge between the rails?

TT & TO help for the Ruphe and Tumbelle

I'm currently expanding the R&T and am looking to get back to ops again. We (about three or four of us) have been running With a Time Table but without any Train Orders, or dispatcher. Being a small narrow gauge layout with few trains being run the job of a dispatcher would be a bit boring, so we have worked without one. This works well if everybody is on time, but, of course, that usually isn't the case!

My question is this:

Is dead rail dead?

I ran across this today:

http://www.on30guy.com/2017/10/23/tam-valley-depot-drops-dead-rail/

I have no real interest in dead rail, I don't feel that battery technology is any where near where it needs to be for this to work reliably. Seems it just wasn't catching on.

I found the cat sleeping on Friday morning. Can you?

Might be waiting to move more drilling mud or sand.  Took the picture in Toledo.

Grain operations on a modern regional

The topic of grain operations on modern regional railroads recently came up on the Yahoo Proto-Layouts list.  I thought I'd post my reply here as well in case the information I compiled is helpful to others.  My information was gathered with regard to the Iowa Interstate, but the principles should apply elsewhere.

Anyone using webcams in the train room?

After recommending that Rob in Texas consider adding a webcam to the club I began to think about doing the same. There are a lot of inexpensive video monitors that are either usb or wireless connected but few talk about compatibility with apps like Skype.

Is anyone using a webcam to share or monitor the layout?

Does the pan & tilt feature work as advertised?

What would you chose to allow an interactive experience as Skype provides?

Thanks!

Fantasy Paint Schemes for Locos & Rolling Stock

B&O loco fantasy paint scheme paint job.

Looking thru some of my inventory the other day, and ran across this unfinished project/idea. It originated when I saw an 'unusual' paint scheme that actually appeared on some B&O passenger cars. At first I wanted to know if the passenger cars actually appeared in those colors ?

2x4 Cafe?

A friend asked me the other day if I remembered an HO structure called the 2x4 Cafe (or maybe, Betty's 2x4 Cafe), and I seem to have some vague recollection along those lines, but a quick web search didn't turn up anything.

Anyone remember such a structure?

Email to individual

Is there a way to private email and individual that is on the forum or blog? I want to communicate with someone but do not want tie up the forum. Also sometimes one may have questions/discussion not for public or comment. I do not mean anything our of bounds just things the general public may not be interested in.

Thank you
