B&O C&O Two Tone E8 Passenger Paint Scheme

I am working on an E8 for either the B&O or C&O (Haven’t decided which yet) but I am trying to find out for the simplified two tone passenger Blue/Gray scheme what color to use for the Gray from the Tru-Color line. Any advice would be greatly appreciated…TYA,  Don

Larry Sapia Photo on last page

There is a really cool photo on the last page of the Nov. MRH. Larry Sapia is credited as the photographer. It has a street rod pacing a 2-8-2. Is it possible to purchase a high resolution poster size version of this image?

Boxcar Roof Weathering

Are all boxcar roofs plain galvanized metal or are most painted to match the car. Trying to prepare to weather several cars and can not find decent pictures of roofs.

Prototype Tank Car Lettering

Is there a reference as to which tank cars have reporting marks on the top of the tank and is there a standard for placeing those reporting marks, i.e. When st a ding on the end of car the bottom of lettering is to the right making it right Side up left to right on the car top.

Natural Gas Fuel Tender

I just ran out for a few errands here in St Augustine FL, and got stopped by a train. It had two FEC locos on the front and a 'fuel tender' between the two. At first I thought it might be some sort of diresel fuel tank mounted on a container car chassi.

But when I came home and looked it up I found this,..

Mini-360 DC-DC Buck converter step down module

In keeping with advice found on this site I use my DCC bus for track power and nothing else. For lights, turnout motors, signage and what have you I use a seperate bus powered by a 15V laptop power supply. That works great for LED lighting because as long as you use the right resistor LEDs don't care what voltage you use. Not so for Tortoise switch motors though, or Miller Engineering signs, or a turntable motor.

Looks like I will have to live with it. Hills painted, On to benchwork.

Looks like I will have to live with it.  Hills painted,  On to bench work.

I should roll over it with blue and start again,  I have a deadline to get all the stuff out of or diner and back onto the new shelves being built under the bench work inside the train room.

Looks nothing like The South West or Arizona.  This is on the north wall.  Just under 27 feet of wall.

Are point to point turnouts problematic?

Hi Folks,

I am developing a track plan and don't know if point to point switches would be "building in" a potential problem.

I would be using this configuration in an HOn3 section of a combined HO/HOn3 mining layout, and operations in the area would be slow speed at best.

Thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks,

George
