Detailing a Bachmann 4-4-0
I'm a first-timer here so thanks in advance for your help. I recently acquired a Bachmann 4-4-0 (Model 51102). I want to replace the very plastic looking firewood load in the tender with real wood bits. Before fussing with it on my own, I wonder if anyone has the know-how to tell me the best way to remove the plastic log load. I don't want to damage anything. Thanks again
Turnout on a Bridge
I've never heard of it happening in the prototype, but my Chief Conductor Wyatt insists on it. The future had spoken.

ProtoThrottle production updates
Now that the initial run of ProtoThrottles is in production, we will be providing updates as the process progresses.
All the faceplates have been machined and will be inspected, packed, and shipped for anodizing. The printed circuit board and associated receivers are being fabricated.
More to come later…
Hawaii Volcano Lava Update - temporarily locked (off-topic)
It seems as though Hawaii is in the news again so I thought I'd share a little about what is going on as I know it. My role with the Department of Public Works allow some insight access beyond what is normally permitted.
Thank you all for writing and expressing your concerns.

Robby the Robot meets an RS3
My original idea began in 1990 with an SW-1500 with Flexcoil sideframes. But when I was ready to start construction, all I had was a Lionel RS3. The platform required bulking up and steps added on one end. The old cab area was plugged and two G scale louvres added for front screens. The copper items are cameras. The cab base is made from styrene and the bubble is one half of a plastic sphere bought at Hobby Lobby.
NCE Power Panel dimensions?
Anyone have dimensions for the cutout to your fascia for the NCE PCP Power Panel? I am working on a T-Trak module design and I don't have my panel at hand. I also can't seem to find the info from NCE or anywhere online...
Thanks!
Feedback on Shelf Layout
I'm starting on my first layout, a 18 in by 13ft Shelf Layout. I'm modeling a paper mill serviced by the Chessie System in the late 70's early 80's. I'm basing the mill on the local mill near Pensacola, FL as far as what traffic I'll be switching. I've settled on this design and looking for feedback if there is anything missing or that I might add.
Installing My First DCC Decoder
Hey All, looking for a little assistance. I installed the ESU LokSound Select in my Bowser and the movement works. I still need to solder speakers to the wires for sound. I have a question and the Bowser website wasn't giving me the info I need. They do have instructions for retrofitting DCC Sound to their locos BUT none of their instructions show the board I have... When I asked them for help they just wanted me to buy a kit from them not help me with what I already purchased.
21 pin board and decoder.
