Railfanning on the Carrollton OH branch

Scenery updates: Water to Puff Balls
we are a month an a half into 2019 and scenery is what I have been working on this year.
Old Atlas N-scale switches
I have just put together a test loop using Atlas code 80 flex track and old switches from the 70's. The newer finer contour wheel sets are not that happy with those switches (#6 and #4). Somewhere, someone, has to have tuned these old things for the newer better wheels and posted a walk through. Anyone know where I could find it?
The scrapyard coming together
I have spent the weekend working on my metal recycling yard and its nearly done. I'll have a video posted in a day or so outlining the entire process but for now, here's a couple pictures. Welcome all thoughts and comments.

Power But NO Movement
Need some advice on what and how to check an engine that was running but now is not. I have a DCC Atlas S-4 on my layout which shows power (light is on) but no movement and no reaction to throttle input including trying to shut the light off.
Engine was running fine several weeks ago but has been sitting for 2 weeks. Tried using a different throttle; no results. Tried moving the engine to a known straight track with power for other engines - no response. Tried cleaning wheels and checking pickups - no response.

Sanborn Maps
Although this is from a genealogy post of Feb 4, 2019, the Sanborn Maps are a huge help to us. Library of Congress now has 25,000 available with a total of 500,000 to be up in 3 years. Here is an article outlining its use.
Passenger Car Tales - building old kits
I started one kit, an observation car. I tried to find the prototype and got bogged down in the research. I then decided to start work on another kit. This time one with a few less windows, a postal car. I refined my methods. The roof on the kits is wood. I realized that I needed to sand the roof much more than I had.

attention Boxcar Willy
Hi, I have tried sending you a PM but received no reply back. Not sure if mine went out/through or not. Anyway, email me at: trailguy46@gmail.com I have 8 pages of instructions in PDF format for the Con-Cor kits that you have. Hope this helps...
Grandpa died. Has big model railroad from my childhood. Laporte, Indiana. Any advice?
Hey folks,
I'm posting here seeking advice.
My Grandpa died. He made a big model railroad during my childhood, and I don't want it to get thrown away or parrted out. It's in Laporte, Indiana. Any advice on finding it a home and someone who would want to refurbish it?

Are You A Digital Hoarder?
When I went to File Explorer to find a file today, I noticed my "Archive" hard drive was red lining. I went to find out why. On that drive are my personal files, music, pictures and my Model Rail folder.
The model rail folder contains all the info I have collected on my railway of choice, The Credit Valley Railway. As well as any photos and articles (both historical and hobby related) and digital magazines. Also any videos I have collected.
Here is what the Properties box looks like:
