Run like a dream locomotives book
Not being a pest, or at least not intending to. Do we have an updated time line for the locomotive book.
Digitrax BD4 output to a relay
I'm helping a friend with a signally issue. His signaling system was designed by someone else (and before his conversion to DCC). I've been able to make sense of what the creator made however connecting to the Digitrax BD4s he's chosen as detectors is problematic. The BD4s are working fine, however, I'd like to use the output of the BD4 to operate a relay and the output of the BD4 is not designed to draw anything more than an LED from the looks of the spec sheet. I know it can be done with a transistor serving as a switch for the relay but have come u

CNW Marshline Trackplan v2 - TOMA approach
Hello everyone!
I've gone back and revamped my railroad, the CNW Marshline Subdivision. I took a real hard look at what I had built before and what the plan is now. I weighed out my limitations as well as my Givens and Druthers to create a plan I really wanted, and most importantly could build without getting stuck or frustrated.

This news story popped up on my Google "Discover" news feed on my phone today:
Sounds pretty interesting. Could be some good modeling opportunites for those who model modern passenger ops!

Improving electrical pickup!
Photo tutorial of improving the electrical pickup on the newer Genesis locomotives from Athearn. Also works for P2K, Atlas, Kato and others with this system.
I have been doing this for years now and it really helps improve the performance.

Clapboard siding size for scratchbuilding
Good day,
Scratchbuilding materials, especially wood, like clapboard siding and scale lumber is not easily available in South Africa. I would like to try my hand on some scratchbuilding of wooden structures - probably start out with a smaller farmhouse or something - I model in HO scale. I can now get hold of some Midwest Products #4450 clapboard siding, which has the 0.125" spacing. Is this a good type of clapboard (spacing) to have for typical 1940/50s wooden type buildings (houses, rural commercial buildings, etc.)?
Best Regards
