DCC Wiring up a Diamond Scale Turntable

What is the most simply manner to wire up Diamond Scale turntable for DCC train operations. The turntable itself will NOT be indexing, nor powered in its turning,...just simple manual rotation?

I suppose one power lead still needs to come in thru the tower on the bridge, while the other comes thru the circular track in the pit? And I assume this circular track does NOT have to be segmented as there are dual contact wheels at both ends of the bridge?

Looking at houses, does this outbuilding look like an ATSF section house?

Was in Kansas a  couple of months ago, looking for a house.  Came across this outbuilding behind a home in Cherryvale.  To me it looks like a Sante Fe section house.  Any opinions?

House was not what we wanted but this would have been a great train building!

Displaying my engines and rolling stock

I putting some photos of my new project. Displaying the trains and rolling stock. (in the lounge room)

Thought I'll start a new thread as the other one was going in a different direction.

For my display I hope to use Led light strips with dimmers 3 altogether, 2 cool light ones and a colour one at the back.

Aldon rail equipment

Aldon company is a prototype supplier with an intriguing array of equipment.  One innovative item is the Switch Cube® , which I don't think has been modeled.  Hobby newbies may not be able to tell how switch points will guide the flanged wheel, apparently this is true of workers too.

Greetings!

Hello everyone! This would be my first post! My build is a small switching layout serving one customer. Thought I’d share a photo of a CP box car I weathered. Waiting to be swapped by B&M switcher LA-1 local, set in the late 1980’s in Lawrence, Mass. I’m still in the scenery fase and working on other details in between but I definitely need to get started on a backdrop cause it’s hurting my eyes not seeing one lol...Anyway hope everyone enjoys! And Happy modeling!

Road Line Jig.

There have been some posts on several model railroad Facebook pages recently on lane widths for roads. I have been following these discussions intently as I am in the process of building an entrance road to my intermodal facility and my next project will be roads in a downtown area.

Household model train negotiations

I have claimed a room (smallish) for my trains. In that room I have freedom to model trains away to my hearts delight, build this, build that, make holes in the wall etc. So recently we had to update our smallish lounge room and we planned to have a narrow wall/book shelf, floor to ceiling on 2 of the walls. This could have in it knick knacks books etc. Then I suggested we lift all the cupboards/shelves that were above approx 4' up another 9" to have a long narrow space on the 2 walls, to break it up. My wife ask why would do that?

Turnout controls?

Is there a way to secure caboose hobbies ground throws to insulation foam on layout? Would I have to cut out squares and glue in softwood to screw in throws?

Assembly problem: GHQ Log Loader kit (N scale)

Has anyone else assembled this kit? In every picture I can find, the small boom (left) looks like its supposed to fit between inside the joint at the end of the big one (right). But obviously, this won't work. The instructions aren't helpful on this point. I have two of this kit, so it's unlikely to be damage to the kit.
