DCC problem

Hi I have an older Walters P2K U30B with factory DCC that is giving me fits. It runs great for awhile then it just stops, pauses for a moment, then takes off again. I took the shell off, all wiring looked good, I did add a piece of tape under the 8 pin plug, still same problem I also noticed I had no headlights either direction, so I swapped out the decoder ( DZ143) to a TCS 1 that I had on hand and tested. The headlight worked briefly then nothing and also still the random stop, pause and restart.

Hi everyone

I am building a stub end switching layout that is 5' x 10" in N Scale. It models an industrial complex that is served by the railroad soit isn't a freight yard as such. It is served by regular freights - short and all cars for one or other of the industries. It then takes the loads/empties back out they way it came.

Live Clinics vs. YouTube Presentations (or both?)

There is another live series of clinics planned for May 16th - 17th.

Some of the comments and criticism of the one done this last weekend hurt but were certainly deserved. I am leaning toward a pre-filmed presentation with voice over. The camera would be fixed in my workbench. I use my iPhone 11 Pro with a tripod and Movie Maker to edit and do titles and the voice over.

Finished Intermodal Cranes

Just finished the MiJack Translift and Container Gantry Cranes for my CN Intermodal Yard on my layout -Trenton Subdivision in N Scale. The two crane models fit nicely in the scene and don’t overshadow the surrounding scenery. I opted for two different styles of cranes for added variety.

Narrow Gauge Tie sizes

I have found a Narrow Gauge discussion group that has described Narrow Gauge Tie sizes, as the following:

Tie length from 5 feet 11 inches to 7 feet long.

Tie width from 6 to 10 inches.

Tie depth from 6 to 8 inches.

Of course this does not describe ties used in special instances (Turn-outs and other special trackage).

Does your information agree with this?

Installed PSX-AR auto reverser a couple years ago on a wye, and has operated flawlessly since. We purchased another PSX-AR recently to install on a second wye. We are using an NCE Power Pro 5 amp dcc system.

I'm turning to the experienced professionals here since I have tried several times consulting with dealers and not getting any replies or reliable answers to my questions. First, what size turntable do I need for my layout if my longest engine and tender to turn is a Berkshire 2-8-4? Secondly, does it come in Code 83 and is or can be operated manually? The longest reach to its position is one-half an arms length with no obstructions in the way.

Understanding PECO turnouts

I am having a lot of trouble understanding some of the terminology regarding PECO turnouts and the words "power routing". I have installed Insulfrogs. When you throw the turnout, that track is powered. The other is not.
