Track spacing
Hi All-
First post here... I've seen a lot of posts related to track spacing for HO... 2" on straights and 2-3/8" or 2-1/2" around curved sections. My question is, when going from a straight to curved section, what's the best way to transition the track spacing difference?
Thanks.

J&L Railway Blog - Is now know as the JLandT Railway Blog...
Hi All,
Well today at 1449 AEST the J&L Railway was expanded by one. I'm pleased to announce the safe arrival of:
Toby Alistair Miller.
So as the CEO of the company in consultation with the VP, and the minister for finance I am pleased to announce the renaming of the J&L to the "JL&T Railway".
Cheers,
Jas...
Lubrication & lubricants -
I have a few locos that give me (us if you include my kids) grief.
So I was wondering what lubes are used by modellers & manufacturers... and just what are they?
The lube on gears appears to be white grease (lubriplate or equivalent), yet, when I've used that, no improvment is noted (and, yes, I clean parts beforehand to keep from over-lubing).

Time Table & Train Order - from the guy with the hoop
Swiped off the Operations & Industry Yahoogroup:
Interesting short story of an overnight operator in Saskatchewan:
<http://www.walrusmagazine.com/articles/2011.01-fiction-meet-you-at-the-door/>
Why you should read it?
It's an interesting story about a young man manning a small station in the middle of
Saskatchewan on the CP Main in 1977 and his interactions with both the Dispatcher and
the train conductors.

Decoder recommendations for starting out...
Hi All,
I'm after some ideas on decoders for my locos to start out with. I have several Athearn RTR DCC Ready (SD50 x1, SD45 x 2, GP35 x1), Atlas Silver series (GP40-2 x 2, MP15 x 1), Proto 2000 (GP7 x 1, SD9 x 2, GP30 x 1) and a Bachmann (GP7 x 1).
I have recently purchased two TCS - T1 decoders and have them installed in the Athearn SD50 & GP35, both are running well and I'm fairly happy with them so far, apart from some noise from either the motor or gears on the GP35.

Wire support of landscape
This is kinda' a blast from the past, but I thought that it might be helpful to those that are thinking about constructing scenery that is vertical and needs support. I thought about many options to support the landscape before I happend to notice a 15' section of wire fence just sitting in my back yard not being used.
How long
How long do people spend working out their track plans .. I originally had an idea of what I wanted to do about 4 months ago .. but so far all the ideas I've put down on paper have to be changed when I've looked at how it might fit in the space I've got. I've looked at plans online and in magazines trying to get some ideas but when I put them down on paper either they don't fit or they just don't look right.
