External Sound

Hello all,

I am building a switching layout and I will only be using one engine at a time on the layout.  Currently all but one of my engines are DC only but all are DCC ready.  My layout will be in one room in the basement.  I also have exercise equipment in the same room so I already have a sound system in place...when my son works out we know he is working out.....

CN heritage units

Any bets on how long before we have a manufacturer putting out factory painted Canadian (-en) National heritage units? GT blue and red SD70M-2 already out on the rails, IC "death star" and BC Rail R/W/B GE's spotted in the paint shop, rumors that there will be a total of 18 heritage units done.

Not that they would be difficult to model, mind you.

Track Plan Critique

Hello Everyone

I thought I would present my track plan here for ideas, critiques, and comments. I've borrowed bits and pieces from other track plans to come up with something that would work for my situation. I like building structures so I added several rail served businesses. Originally it was going to be a straight point to point but then I added another leg to make it an L shape. I discovered JMRI operations and was having fun with that so I added a yard.

Painting track work...

Started the mammoth task of painting all the ties tonight...

Starting out with a couple of quick coats of the Rustoleum - Earth Brown, and then finished off with the air brush with some highlights of roof brown to simulate some light rust.

I built a tugboat.

Happy Thanksgiving

to all you Canadian model railroaders here and abroad.

Modified Kitwood Hill 0n30 Turntable to H0

As mentioned in my last blog entry I had purchased a Kitwood Hill 0n30 turntable and modified it for use on my H0 scale layout. As promissed I took some photos of the turntalbe.

Those little things hard to find.

Hi, I'm a 3D artist willing to deliver quality 3D resin prints.

Would you be interested in purchase 3D printed (painted or not) people, props, buildings...

Or maybe you think there are enough offer in the hobby shops?

Some hobby-friend already showed his interest into having 1890-1900 people kits for G-scale, specially womens due their clothes.

My name's Juan, from Barcelona, Spain.

A moving experience -- tearing down the layout

Well, many years earlier than expected, we are moving. And while there is more space in the new location, the existing layout simply would not go as is... sigh.

So I have been engaged in deconstructing the BQR. All the circuit boards, boosters, buildings constructed and otherwise are all in boxes, as is all of my rolling stock. Taking the layout itself apart is another story.

(manual) Control of Crossovers,...doubles & singles

Control of Crossovers,...doubles & singles

Exploring ideas for 'powering-up' crossover turnouts. Of course many of us would be well aware of our use of a double crossover on our layout planning (it just stands out), ….but perhaps less aware of the number of single crossovers we have designed into the plan. That was one thing I recently discovered while looking into controlling my turnouts,...I have a lot more crossovers than I originally recognized.
