Replacing Athearn Genesis Wheels in Freight Cars with Intermountain
I have a few Athearn Genesis freight cars and I want to replace the wheels with Intermountain wheels. I'm not a fan of how the Athearn Geneses wheels can just drop out of the bottom of the truck side frame when you pick it up (although maybe that is prototypical), and I'm trying to standardize my fleet.
Using the Athearn trucks, has anyone tried gently drilling out the center of the hole where the axle goes in the truck side frame to accommodate a larger axle, like the Intermountain one's?
With a larger hole and axle it would solve the drop out problem.
Thunder Mesa Structures

Trade Zephyr DCS 52 for DCS51?
I have owned all three Digitrax DCS Zephyr sets. I currently have the DCS52 Zephyr Express and am wondering if someone would like to trade their Zephyr Extra DCS51 for my Zephyr Express DCS52? Digitrax has changed some of the programing parameters of the DCS52, compared to the older DCS50-DCS51. The trade must include all manuals and literature as I would include my DCS52 information. Would you see a doodlebug in Chicago pre-war?
I know doolebugs ran on branchlines in the 30s and 40s, but would they have ever run into the middle of Chicago from anywhere, or was that kind of traffic handled by the city commuter lines?
Utah Belt in N Scale
I was experimenting using AnyRail 6 trying to design an N scale version of the first Utah Belt layout. Has anyone in this group designed an N scale UB? Would like to see for ideas.
Below are photos of what I worked the other night. . .takes some practice laying track over the image but I am finding consistency with the curves. The curves range from 15" to 18" radius so far and the turnouts align with #7 Atlas Turnouts.

Unfortunately I only have the November issue and I was wondering if anyone here might be able to share the other articles with me.

Oil tank decals
I just got the Walthers wide oil tank in Ho scale for my Gulf refining industry. But they need to have the Gulf logo on them. Does anyone make Gulf decals for these oil tanks?
