Best Static Grass Applicator?

I need to so some static grass.  What is the best performing applicator?  Are expensive commercial units better than home made?  Do you "get what you pay for"?  I don't mind paying a premium for a tool that is worth it.  But I get frustrated in trying to use a poor tool just to save a buck or 20 (or a 100).

Is the high priced Nock unit superior?

Thanks for any recommendations.

Glue for attaching metal siding to cardstock.

I just read your information on gluing sheet metal to cardstock.  After years of building custom models for customers, I have tried about every type of glue you can think of. From white glues, to a variety of super glues.  Contact cement, works  well, but your method of the double sided tape is probably the best yet.

Ottawa Train Expo - May 2012

I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Ottawa Train Expo this past weekend. I don't have any comments about the show itself, except that I enjoyed myself. I did, however, take a few pictures of what was there. You can view them here:

Free rolling cars when switching?

Has anybody tried moving cars during an operating session using either gravity or momentum (REAL momentum, not electrical) instead of keeping them coupled to an engine?  I'm talking about kicking cars, dropping them by, jerking them by (flying switches), or other similar operations.  Kicking cars is a common practice on the prototype because it drastically speeds the switching.  Dropping them by is a great way to get the cars on the other end of the engine without having to run around the train.  Jerking them by is VERY discouraged these days, although I have seen

I have been in another part of our Hobby for quite a while and have lost touch with HO suppliers etc.

If anyone has detailed a ATSF GP 35 and SD 45 could you give me a little guidance with what details I need and where I can get them.

Thanks
