The Great Puff Ball Debate....

Hi every one...I am struggling at making trees. Joe makes the pine tree scenery look so good, us plain old folks trying to model eastern railroads don't have a chance. So here is the issue... how do we make realistic eastern type forests of trees? I have never been a real fan of the puff ball. Model Railroader used them on their Virginian project railroad and it doesn't have the realism I am looking for (see - Joe has spoiled it for the rest of us).

Kline superstreets

I have added a dog bone design with the Kline superstreet 'for my trolley thru the middle of my O gauge layout. However my trolley derails at the fork on each end. Is there something I should be tadding at the junction because it seems rough making the switch.??

Adventures in Shop Tooling...

So let us suppose one had the option to go through door number one or door number two...

Door number one is a rather fun package.  I'd be opting for the 6200 package, though, seeing as how it has the 2000 series mill instead.  This package would allow me to do fun things like convert the Bachmann 2-10-4 frame into a 2-8-4 frame, or tool up new driver beds for my Bowser Challenger[s].  But after these projects, then what?

New freebies

Just posted some new free kits at our website. An 85' brick chimney  and a section of steel and concrete pier in HO & O

Hope you find them useful and enjoyable. Lots of other new stuff too.

installing replacement trucks

I'm looking for some advice...I bought a bunch of old cars at a model railroad auction only to find most were missing their trucks. They're a real mixed bag of different makes but it looks like the majority had the trucks that were fastened in with plastic plugs (not screwed in) or talgo style with the molded on posts. So my question is...do I fill the holes with styrene rod then drill and tap for screws or do I look for trucks with the plastic posts (are they available) Which manu
