Just saw this on CNN yesterday. Seems it's finally not just Hobby Shops that are suffering from on-line merchandising.

Rapido Canadian - How do they run?

Now that Rapido is shipping out there Canadian sets, how do those who received them like them.

Does the FP9 meet expectations?

How well do the passenger cars perform?

What do you think of the finish of the passenger cars?

Would you have bought the set now that you know what it is like,

Tell us please

Looking For Info About Craftsman Kits

After almost 30 years out of active model railroading, I have several questions about craftsman-quality structure kits, what they're made of, and how we build them.

First, what are tabbed construction techniques?  That's a phrase that's foreign to my ear, yet many kit makers seem to think it's very important.

N Scale Motor/Gearbox Linkage Help

Hello, I have two N scale steam engines that are identical. One has vinyl tubing that connects the motor rod to the rod that connects with worm gear and gear housing shown here:

Dissapointed in MR

Are my expectations too high or did MR really bomb this month? I read it cover to cover and then realized I didn't learn a single thing. Not even the tiniest of detail tidbit of new knowledge. That's sad for a reader who has only been back in the hobby for 2 years after a 40 year lapse.

MRH, you have ruined me with your excellent articles. C'mon MR, pick it up a bit please.

If you're curious about these famous geese, I've got lots of history & photo links at my site:  http://www.rgsrr.info.

Wiring a N scale layout.

What is the right gauge wire to run for you bus and for your accessories.  I dont know if I should go with DC or DCC.

I beleive DC is easier and cheaper.

Trucks & brake wheels

Been wondering about era specific trucks and brake wheels for rolling stock. One of my modeling interests is a 1910-1920 era logging line. I've been trying to research the kinds of trucks and brake wheels that would be appropriate for such rolling stock, which in some cases would already be outdated and obsolete as compared to Class I railroads of the time. Web searches have not been very helpful in narrowing down specific types of trucks and brake wheels for specific time periods. I'm finding general info but need to narrow it down more.

Finding a donor frame for a diesel loco build. (Help needed)

Greetings

I have been reading MRH since it was first released and I have finally decided to get my hands dirty with this marvelous hobby also making my first post here, therefore sorry for newbie (and linguistic) errors. My current project is following:

Because I live in Estonia, the most iconic freight loco I can remember was Chme3 (ЧМЭ3, made in USSR) and I would like to replicate this wonderful piece of steel in HO scale. [Basically, in Czechoslovakia they were produced as ČKD T699]
