Air Supply Regulation for Airbrush

Someone posted about airbrushes needing a well-regulated, constant supply of air-- and then mentioning piston vs pistonless compressor debates on other web sites-- and it got me wondering, why not just run the air from whatever compressor you have through an old tire tube, maybe stick a second valve on the thing at the opposite end. I'm thinking it oughta act for air something like a capacitor does for electricity and smooth out the supply? What do you think? Would it make a cheap & easy regulator?

Foam Roadbed

I have located some gray sound deadening foam roadbed on ebay that looks interesting..Any thoughts on it would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Minimun and best Curve Radius on N scale

What should be minimun radius of curve for a N scale layout?

and should be the best? let say a middle point between space and not to look too much as toy train?

Faller Roller Coaster kit?

I just bought the Faller Roller Coaster kit. Anyone here have any tips on building it?

I have read the direction downloaded off their site and it does not seem that bad (just lots of parts and pieces) except for the alignment of the track. Is that really hard and does it stay in aalignment once done?

It will be on a removable access plate on the layout (secured to plate). Will removal of that plate with the coaster on it screw up the coaster track alignment?.

Thanks,

LDBennett

Sound Modules

Not knowing to much what is available in sound modules I have a question. Is there a product out there in sound modules for non-DCC type engines? In other words if I had just a DC control system is there something available that would equal the sound modules available for DCC?

Let's talk about ballast

I bought some Scenic Express #40 Blended ballast and it arrived today.  It looks great, however it is signifacantly darker than I expected and may be too dark for the prototype area I am modeling.  It looks good for a yard, but may be too dark for the mainline. Here is the ballast:

And here are the prototype photos:

Question about the new Atlas GP9 N Scale.

Has anyone seen under the shell on these units?

Can the new Atlas GP9 (N scale) be converted to a dropped nose with DCC?

I really want to model a GP9RM like this: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=410778&nseq=4

Thanks

Any MRH members in the Naples Florida area?

I will be there next week for the entire week (12/8-15).  Thought it would be a nice opportunity to meet anyone with common interests.

EDIT: Hmm... didn't include my usual tag line...

Milt Spanton

etc, etc about Missabe

Dream design

I am hoping to build an HO shelf layout am somewhat confused from an operational standpoint and cost about what code track to use. I currently have a layout that utilizes code 83. I am very happy with the Atlas products I used. I have accumulated a fair supply of code 100, code 83 and some code 70. A current magazine article indicated the use of 83 on mains and passing sidings, 70 in the yards  and 55 for spurs.

Question #1 is why or why not go 100/83/70 vs 83/70/55.
