help with replacement coupler
can anyone identify this coupler?
I have about 20 old Bachman cars that have this coupler. I want to change them to knuckle type. I bought some Kadee #148's. they fit but the hole is much larger then the original hole. I'm thinking of just drilling the hole larger and using a bigger screw. Does anyone know if there is a direct replacement for this? I looked at the kadee web site but couldn't identify this coupler/car combo.
I guess it make a good "How to" tip, lol.

Static grass applicator
Hi all,
I've recently made a static grass applicator, using the parts of an electronic fly swatter, and a tea strainer.

Layout room/Building that looks like a Train Station
Ok railheads, I need you all to go back in your collective memories. After a recent lull in layout design and my daughter deciding that she now wants to move into the basement for more privacy ( I guess thats what 14 year olds want), I have decided to build a separate building for the layout. It will be approx 22' x 32'. I am thinking I may make it look like a train station.

chip dust for ballast?
Has anyone had any experience in using chip dust for ballast???
I am curious as it seems to be available at most gravel yards for fairly decent prices
Also, anyone know of a supplier of small quantities of coal?
thanks in advance,
A Prototype for Everything - The Great Western Industrial Park
They say there is a prototype for everything. Here is another at The Great Western Industrial Park (http://www.greatwesternindustrialpark.com/index.html). It is a simple oval with a variety of industries, including a wind turbine blade plant.
If you zoom in with the satellite view, the 45deg view will pop up and you can see the track work in the construction phase. This could make for some interesting modeling.

Removing Dried Glue
I am building a bridge(styrene) and I've been sloppy with getting glue(CA and Pro Weld ) on the exposed
areas. Is their anything that can safely remove the dried glue without damaging the plastic?
