Engine Wiring Help: N-Scale, Spectrum No. 82153, N&W 6llJ

I was given this engine that someone had taken apart thinking the motor was bad.  I tested the motor and it runs; but, there are two wires in the bundle of 6 black wires that goes from the tender to the engine.  There is a circuit board in between and if you hold the board looking at the non-printed side with the black wires down, the two wires, looking left to right, would be the second and third wires - were does the other end hook to?

It would be great if someone had a schematic diagram for this engine and could send it pdf.

Detroit Terminal - The Belt Line Industrial Track

I just posted my final entry in a series of blog posts about the Detroit Terminal Railroad and my plans to model a modern-day, proto-freelanced version. Please check it out at http://detroitterminal.blogspot.com/, and feel free to let me know what you think.

After nearly a year of research - due mainly to the pesky intrusions of real life - I'm ready to start turning all this information into an actual model railroad. I'll continue to update my blog to show my progress, so stay tuned!

I have never twisted DCC buss wires together but.....

...everything I've been reading of late seems to point to it as "best practice".  As I solder all my feeders to the buss, twisting makes it more difficult to make those connections and insulate them and although I see it recommended I have yet to see a comprehensive explanation why except for vague references to long buss runs and interference to radio throttles, neither of which I will have. My  layout occupies an 8 x 10 area. So I guess I'm asking, can't I just get by with running my buss wires parallel a couple of inches apart like I always have?

Layout Design

Please critique the proposed layout design.

The layout area is 19' x 21" and is to be located in my garage.  The garage also serves as a workshop for my woodworking.  As anyone who has done woodworking knows, it can create a lot of dust, massive amounts of dust. With that in mind I do plan on building a permanent top that will serve to provide lighting and a part of the cover.
