Layout Construction
I am putting the cart before the house or vise versa. I have posted pics. before of finished areas and/or finished structures. But based on a post in the discussion section on benchwork I would like show what I did for my layout build. But bear in mind this was how I did it and is not the only way.

Mainline Midtrain helpers : Emulating the prototype
Dear MRHers,
OK, here's one for the BrainsTrust.
I'm seeking at creating a layout scene which will feature mainline mid-train loco ops. As part of this, I'm looking for "typical" trains which make use of such distributed power systems. Grain and Coal come to mind, but are there others?
(visualise sitting at a grade crossing in your car, crossbucks flashing,
and watching a loco splicing 2x strings of autoracks or container-stackers roll past?)
FWIW, I'm focussing on BNSF and UP ops in the Grain states...

rough crossing
Hello all I am currently building a new ho layout I am using micro engineering code 83 flex and building my turnouts with fast tracks jig and tools, they take a little time to build but I am happy with the results so far. I have a 60 degree crossing in the plan and I am using an atlas code 83 60 is there anyway to make a train run smoother through the crossing, my engines and cars both bounce up going through it and I am not sure what to do to fix it or if it is fixable. Also are walthers crossings any better.
Thanks for any info.
